Predators' Nicolas Hague: Lands on injured reserve
Hague (upper body) was placed on injured reserve Saturday, Brooks Bratten of the Predators' official site reports.

Predators' Nicolas Hague: Set to miss 4-6 weeks
Hague (upper body) is expected to miss the next 4-6 weeks, Brooks Bratten of the Predators' official site reports Wednesday.
Hague sustained the injury during Sunday's preseason game. He had five goals, 12 points, 40 PIM, 82 hits and 74 blocks across 68 regular-season appearances in 2024-25. Hague's absence makes it more likely that Nick Blankenburg will start the regular season as a member of the third pairing, though Jordan Oesterle and Andreas Englund are presumably competing with Blankenburg for that spot.

Predators' Nicolas Hague: Sent to Music City
Hague signed a four-year, $22 million contract with the Predators after being acquired in a trade from the Golden Knights on Sunday in exchange for Jeremy Lauzon (lower body) and Colton Sissons (lower body), according to Darren Dreger of TSN. The Predators also received a conditional 2027 third-round pick in the trade.
General manager Barry Trotz is clearly trying to send a message to his locker room that this past season was unacceptable by sending away two players and acquiring Hague in the process. The 26-year-old Hague logged five goals, 12 points, 82 hits, 74 blocked shots and a minus-2 rating over 68 regular-season appearances with Vegas in 2024-25. The left-shot blueliner played mostly in a bottom-pairing role with the Golden Knights, but he'll almost certainly be a top-four piece with the Predators in 2025-26 and beyond.

Hague scored an empty-net goal in Sunday's 4-2 win over the Lightning.

This was Hague's first goal and second point over 11 outings in March. The 26-year-old defenseman remains a steady presence in the lineup, but he's in a bottom-four role most of the time, giving him little chance of contributing on offense. He's matched his career high with five goals but has added just six assists, 69 shots on net, 67 hits, 64 blocked shots, 40 PIM and a minus-4 rating over 59 appearances this season.
