Avalanche's Martin Necas: Not slowing down
Necas scored a goal on four shots in Saturday's 3-2 overtime loss to the Sharks.
Necas has scored three goals and added two assists over the last three games. The 26-year-old winger hasn't gotten complacent since signing a massive eight-year, $92 million deal Thursday, which cements him as part of the Avalanche's core throughout his prime years. Necas has rattled off nine goals, 17 points, 28 shots on net, 14 hits and a plus-9 rating over 13 appearances this season.

Avalanche's Martin Necas: Three points in win
Necas had a goal and two assists in Friday's 4-2 win over the Golden Knights.
Necas opened the scoring for the Avalanche just 41 seconds into the game on a one-timer, and he'd later contribute directly to the goals scored by Brent Burns and Cale Makar. Necas continues to produce at a high level for the Avs and has cracked the scoresheet in all but two of his 12 appearances so far.

Necas signed an eight-year, $92 million contract extension with Colorado on Thursday, Elliotte Friedman of Sportsnet reports.

Avalanche's Martin Necas: Scores early in win
Necas scored a power-play goal on two shots and added two PIM in Tuesday's 8-4 win over the Devils.
Necas saw his eight-game point streak end over the weekend in a loss to Boston, and he was also held off the scoresheet in the first game of a home-and-home set against New Jersey. He made sure the drought didn't reach three contests, burying his power-play tally 1:24 into Tuesday's high-scoring victory. The 26-year-old is up to seven goals, 13 points, 22 shots on net, 12 hits, eight PIM and a plus-7 rating across 11 appearances. Necas will continue to be consistently strong in most fantasy formats as a top-line player in a strong offense.

The winger is now at six goals, six helpers, 19 shots on net, eight hits and a plus-8 rating to start the season. The Czech winger continues to be reliable in a top-line role, and it's tough to see the Avalanche shuffling him into a different spot any time soon.

Avalanche's Martin Necas: Roofs shot to force overtime
Necas scored a goal on two shots and added two hits in Tuesday's 4-3 overtime loss to the Mammoth.
Necas again saw his point streak on the line late, and he was able to extend it with a tough-angle shot to beat Karel Vejmelka with 2:16 left in the third period. That goal helped the Avalanche get one standings point, but the Mammoth won it 33 seconds into overtime on a Dylan Guenther goal. During Necas' season-opening point streak, he's put up five goals and six assists over seven games. He's added 16 shots on net, six hits and a plus-9 rating. The 26-year-old also has 14 shots on net, a plus-10 rating, four hits and two blocked shots. Necas is in a contract year and skating with Nathan MacKinnon, so it's no surprise he's been consistent to begin 2025-26.

Overall, the winger has a goal, four assists, 12 shots on net, 16 hits and a plus-3 rating over six playoff contests. Necas pocketed two assists Monday in the Avalanche's 6-2 loss to the Stars in Game 5 of their first-round series.
The 26-year-old winger helped set up tallies by Artturi Lehkonen and Nathan MacKinnon midway through the second period, but the Avs' offense was otherwise quiet. Necas has had a sluggish start to the postseason, managing just three assists in five games while attempting only six shots on net, and he may need to find another gear Thursday if the Avs are going to avoid elimination in Game 6.

Avalanche's Martin Necas: Provides assist on opening goal
Necas logged an assist and four hits in Saturday's 5-1 win over the Stars in Game 1.
Necas has a helper in three straight contests. The 26-year-old Necas will be a focal point in this series, as he plays against the player the Avalanche traded away to acquire him in Mikko Rantanen, with both forwards featuring in similar roles. Necas put up a career year in the regular season, earning 27 goals, 56 assists, 194 shots on net, 62 hits and a plus-5 rating over 79 appearances. Necas' offensive success in the playoffs will likely correlate with Nathan MacKinnon's production as long as the two stick together on the top line.
