Avalanche's Sean Behrens: Moves to injured, non-roster list
Behrens (undisclosed) was placed on non-roster injured reserve Monday.
Behrens was one of several players placed on non-roster IR by the Avalanche on Monday. The 2021 second-round selection has yet to make his NHL debut, so he'll most likely continue his development with AHL Colorado once he moves past his injury, though he could be a call-up candidate if the big club is dealing with injuries on the blue line in 2025-26.

Avalanche's Sean Behrens: Hurt in preseason finale
Behrens (undisclosed) sustained an injury in Saturday's preseason game versus the Stars, Aarif Deen of Colorado Hockey Now reports.
The details of Behrens' injury weren't revealed after the contest. The 22-year-old defenseman missed all of 2024-25 while recovering from a torn ACL, and it's possible he could end up on season-opening injured reserve again if this is a substantial injury.

Avalanche's Sean Behrens: Moves past knee injury
Behrens (knee) will take part in the Rookie Faceoff in mid-September, Brennan Vogt of Hockey Mountain High reports.
Behrens tore his ACL during training camp last fall and was forced to miss the entire 2024-25 campaign. However, after nearly a year of rehabbing, he's ready to return to the ice ahead of the 2025-26 season. The 2021 second-round pick will likely begin this season in the minors but could be in the mix to make his NHL debut at some point.

Avalanche's Sean Behrens: Season officially over
Behrens will miss the entirety of the 2024-25 campaign with a knee injury, the Avs announced Tuesday.
Behrens was unlikely to play in the NHL this year, considering it would have been his first season in the professional ranks. Selected by Colorado in the second round of the 2021 NHL Draft, the blueliner spent three seasons with the University of Denver where he racked up 10 goals and 71 assists in 112 collegiate contests. Given the long-term recovery, Behrens will likely start next season in the minors as well.
