Saros performed well, but the Predators were unable to cash in on any of their 35 shots in the contest. This is the fifth time in 17 appearances that Saros has limited an opponent to one goal, though it's the first time he's taken a loss while doing so. On the year, he has a 6-8-3 record with a 2.85 GAA and an .896 save percentage. The Predators' next game is Monday at home versus the Panthers.

All three goals that beat Saros were in the early stages of the first period, as Pittsburgh's Sidney Crosby tallied the third goal just outside the 10-minute mark. With the loss, Saros falls to a 6-7-3 record with a 2.97 GAA and an .892 save percentage through 16 appearances this season. His numbers so far this year have been running parallel to his output through 58 games a season ago. Despite inconsistently finding the win column, Saros is far and away the No. 1 option for the Predators and will likely see a bulk of the workload moving forward. Saros stopped 16 shots in Friday's 2-1 overtime win over the Penguins, snapping his three-game (0-2-1) losing skid. Predators' Juuse Saros: Earns OT win Friday
Saros stopped 16 of 17 shots in Friday's 2-1 overtime win over the Penguins.
Saros was beaten by Evgeni Malkin in the second period, but he was excellent the rest of the way. The 30-year-old snapped a three-game losing skid with this win, and it was also the first time he has conceded just one goal since a 2-1 win over the Canucks on Oct. 23. Saros will aim to win back-to-back games for the first time since late October in his next start, which could presumably come in a rematch against the Penguins in Sweden on Sunday.

Saros was the first goalie to leave the ice, Penguins play-by-play announcer Josh Getzoff reports, indicating he'll be in goal for Friday's Global Series clash with Pittsburgh.
