Bunting ruined Connor Hellebuyck's bid for a shutout with a backhand goal at 18:56 of the third period. He logged a season-high 17:04 of ice time in Saturday's loss, including 3:54 with the man advantage. He has two 20-goal regular seasons already on his NHL resume and is a fine low-end fantasy option with upside in deep leagues.

Bunting scored the first goal of the year for the Predators just under seven minutes into regulation. It's an encouraging sign to see Bunting contribute to Nashville's offense in the early going after taking a step back on the attack last season. His 38 points a year ago was his lowest mark since the 2020-21 campaign. The 30-year-old winger has played for four teams in the past four seasons (Toronto, Carolina, Pittsburgh, Nashville), but he's showing signs of settling into his role on the left wing in the early portion of 2025-26. His current value is best suited for deeper leagues.

Predators' Michael Bunting: Finds scoresheet in loss
Bunting scored a goal and fired five shots on net in Monday's 7-3 loss to the Hockey Club.
Bunting found the back of the net for Nashville's third and final goal of the game in the latter half of the second period. Overall, the 29-year-old winger has 19 goals, 38 points and 149 shots on net in 75 games this season between Pittsburgh and Nashville. While Bunting began his tenure with the Predators by going on a four-game point skid, he's found a rhythm offensively as of late with nine points in his last 13 outings. He's entering the final season of his three-year deal next year and will likely need to maintain some of his recent consistency if the Predators are to bring him back beyond the 2025-26 season.

This was Bunting's first multi-point performance in a Nashville sweater and his first since Dec. 29, when he was with Pittsburgh. He has notched four goals and two assists across 14 appearances with his new club. The 29-year-old dished a primary helper in the opening frame and netted the game-tying goal with under a minute remaining in the final stanza to help the Preds pull off the comeback win. That's two goals over the last three games for Bunting, who looks to be adjusting nicely to a top-six role in Nashville. The winger is up to 16 goals, 31 points, 123 shots on net, 67 hits, 56 PIM and a minus-24 rating over 65 appearances. There's some risk to his production, especially given the Predators' struggles this year, but he offers a bit of upside in points, hits and PIM for the rest of the season.

The Predators were horrid in the first period, but Bunting's goal 1:39 into the second sparked their comeback. This was his first point in five games since he returned from an appendectomy he underwent while a member of the Penguins before a deadline-week deal sent him to Nashville. For the season, the 29-year-old winger has 15 goals, 30 points, 119 shots on net, 65 hits and a minus-23 rating through 63 appearances. Bunting provides a little sandpaper and depth scoring, both of which can help fantasy managers heading into the playoffs, assuming he can build off Saturday's performance.

Predators' Michael Bunting: Activated from injured reserve
Bunting (abdomen) was activated from injured reserve Friday, indicating he'll return to the lineup versus the Ducks, Nick Kieser of 102.5 ESPN Nashville reports.
The Predators now have 12 healthy forwards on the roster, assuming Bunting is able to make his team debut Friday. The 29-year-old figures to play in a middle-six role, though it's possible he is eased back into action following an appendectomy. Prior to getting traded to Nashville, he produced 29 points in 58 appearances with the Penguins.

Bunting (abdomen) will be a game-time decision against the Ducks on Friday, Brooks Bratten of the Predators' official site reports.
Bunting has yet to suit up for the Predators after being acquired via trade from Pittsburgh at the deadline. Prior to getting hurt, the winger was mired in a 10-game goal drought dating back to Feb. 25 versus the Flyers, registering two assists and 20 shots over that stretch.
