  • Avalanche's Brock Nelson: Notches assist against former team

Nelson tallied an assist and blocked two shots in Thursday's 6-3 loss to the Islanders.

Despite being on the losing end of the matchup, Nelson got involved against his former team with a secondary helper on Valeri Nichushkin's goal. Overall, Nelson has nine assists, 18 points and 44 shots on goal through 27 games this season. After a slow start to the season, the 34-year-old center has 13 points in his last 11 games and has helped Gabriel Landeskog find his stride on Colorado's second line. Nelson has a solid chance to post his seventh season with 50-plus points in the last eight years, making him a solid waiver-wire addition in nearly all fantasy formats.

  • Avalanche's Brock Nelson: Scores game-winner Tuesday

Nelson scored a goal and blocked three shots in Tuesday's 3-1 win over the Canucks.

Nelson put the Avalanche ahead 2-1 at 13:52 of the second period, and his tally held up as the game-winner. The 34-year-old has earned 12 points over his last 10 games and finally looks to be more comfortable after a rough start to the campaign. He's at nine goals, 17 points, 43 shots on net, 19 blocked shots, 14 hits, 16 PIM and a plus-15 rating over 26 appearances, so he should offer a little of everything for fantasy managers.

  • Avalanche's Brock Nelson: Erupts for four points Saturday

Nelson produced two goals and two assists in Saturday's 7-2 win over the Canadiens.

The 34-year-old got the rout started midway through the first period by snapping a shot from the slot past Jakub Dobes, before having a hand in each of the Avs' next three goals. Nelson's first goal of the afternoon gave him 600 career points, and on the current season, he's racked up eight goals and 16 points in 25 games.

  • Avalanche's Brock Nelson: One of each in win

Nelson scored a power-play goal on four shots and added an assist in Thursday's 6-3 win over the Rangers.

Nelson has a four-game point streak going, earning three goals and three assists in that span. He's put up multiple points in each of the last two contests, the first times he's done that this season. The second-line center is up to six goals, five helpers, 35 shots on net, 15 blocked shots, 12 hits, 10 PIM and a plus-10 rating through 20 outings. His tally Thursday was his first power-play point since Opening Night, and his offense should increase if he can improve in that situation.

Nelson scored a goal on three shots and went plus-2 in Thursday's 6-3 win over the Sabres.

That's nothing special, but it's better than his quiet start to the season. • Avalanche's Brock Nelson: Lights lamp Friday

Nelson scored a goal on two shots in Friday's 4-2 win over the Golden Knights.

Nelson has scored twice over the last three games. The 34-year-old center is still looking for a rhythm on offense -- he has yet to post a multi-point performance this season, and just one of his four points has come on the power play. He's added 19 shots on net, nine hits, 10 blocked shots, eight PIM and a plus-5 rating over 12 appearances in a second-line role.

  • Avalanche's Brock Nelson: Grabs goal in defeat

Nelson registered a goal on two shots on target, a plus-1 rating and two penalty minutes during his 17:40 of ice time in Sunday's 4-3 loss to the Devils.

It's been a tough start to the season for Nelson offensively, so it's a good sign to see him get a goal against the Devils. The 34-year-old has seen plenty of ice time and has a plus-4 rating, but whether that's more to do with him or the quality of the team around him remains to be seen. Both fantasy managers and the Avalanche alike will need much more from Nelson, who had his ninth 20-goal season in the NHL just last year but has mustered only three points through 10 games in 2025-26.
