Scheifele lit the lamp twice on three shots on goal, delivered two hits and had a plus-1 rating during Saturday's 3-2 win against the Kings.
At 32 years old, Scheifele has shown no signs of slowing down as a scorer in the season's opening two games. He was unselfish in the opener, notching three assists Thursday against Dallas, but got some for himself Saturday with a two-goal performance, including the game-winner in the third period. The 15-year veteran is now up to five points on the season.

Scheifele recorded three assists, including one shorthanded, in Thursday's 5-4 loss to the Stars.
The Jets scored two shorthanded goals during a Dallas third-period power play, but they fell short of completing a late comeback. Scheifele assisted in each of Kyle Connor's goals and kicked off the season on a strong note. The veteran center, who has spent his entire career with the Jets, figures to be a key component of the Jets' offense as long as he stays healthy and has the body of work to prove what he can bring to the table. He's recorded at least 60 points in 10 straight seasons and has reached the 70-point plateau in three of his last four.

Scheifele scored a goal, doled out nine hits and added two PIM in Saturday's 2-1 overtime loss to the Stars in Game 6.
Just hours after the unexpected death of his father, Scheifele chose to suit up in Game 6 with the Jets facing elimination. He gave them a storybook start, scoring the opening goal at 5:28 of the second period, but in a cruel twist, the 32-year-old was in the penalty box when the Stars won the game in overtime. Scheifele ends the playoffs at five goals, six assists and 22 shots on net over 11 appearances. All the best to Scheifele and his family as they navigate the heartbreaking loss of a loved one.

Scheifele (undisclosed) won't play in Game 7 against St. Louis on Sunday, according to Mitchell Clinton of the Jets' official site.
Scheifele will miss his second straight game and will need his teammates to win to give him a chance to return this postseason.
