There were rumors towards the end of the regular season that the Dolphins would waive Campbell in order for him to sign with a playoff contender, but that didn't end up happening as Miami wasn't eliminated from postseason contention until Week 18. It's not known whether Campbell will return for a 16th NFL season in 2025 or hang up his cleats.

Campbell (neck) is listed as questionable ahead of Sunday's matchup against the Jets, David Furones of the South Florida Sun Sentinel reports. The veteran defensive lineman opened the Dolphins' week of practice with a DNP but upgraded to limited work Friday, suggesting that he's trending toward playing in Sunday's must-win contest. Campbell has yet to miss a game this season, recording 49 total tackles, including 4.0 sacks, five passes defended and one forced fumble. If the 38-year-old can play through his neck injury Sunday, he's expected to serve as one of Miami's starting defensive ends.

  • Dolphins' Calais Campbell: Gets to quarterback Sunday

Campbell recorded three tackles (three solo), including 1.0 sack, during Sunday's 20-17 win versus the Jaguars. Being badly banged up on the edge, Miami leaned on Campbell some to provide a pass rush in Week 1, and the veteran delivered solid production. Given his age, there's probably a cap on his playing time in any given game, meaning Campbell will be tough to rely on for IDP production as the season progresses.

  • Falcons' Calais Campbell: Can still get after QBs

Campbell finished 2023 with 56 tackles (32 solo), 6.5 sacks, one forced fumble, one fumble recovery and one pass defense in 17 appearances. After three years in Baltimore, Campbell signed a one-year deal with Atlanta to revamp a poor pass rush. Jessie Bates' presence also had a major impact on the Falcons' defensive turnaround, but Campbell's contributions shouldn't go unnoticed, as he notched his most sacks in a season since 2019. Given the strong pairing, it wouldn't be surprising to see the Falcons try to bring the veteran back for his age-38 season, though Campbell may have a list of suitors after a healthy 2023 campaign.

  • Falcons' Calais Campbell: Records sack in loss

Campbell notched four tackles (three solo) and one sack during Sunday's 24-16 loss to the Commanders. The sack was the 100th of his career, making one of just five active NFL players to hit that special mark. Campbell signed with the Falcons this offseason and was expected to revitalize one of the worst pass-rushing groups in the NFL. He's been a solid presence for Atlanta thus far, but it took until Week 6 to record his first sack. Campbell hasn't recorded a double-digit sack season since 2018, and it doesn't look like that'll change this year.

Campbell (knee) is a game-time decision for Sunday night's game against the Steelers, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports. • Ravens' Calais Campbell: No intention to retire

Campbell said Sunday he intends to return for the 2022 campaign, which will be the 15th season of his career, Jamison Hensley of ESPN.com reports. Campbell's two-year, $27 million contract with the Ravens has run its course, positioning him to become an unrestricted free agent after having notched just 1.5 sacks across 15 appearances in 2021. Baltimore could be motivated to offer the 35-year-old veteran a one-year deal to reprise his role in the 2022 season, but if Campbell does hit the open market he shouldn't have much difficulty finding a role elsewhere.
