Darryl Tapp: Cut by Bucs
Tapp was released by the Buccaneers on Tuesday, Greg Auman of the Tampa Bay Times reports.
Tapp will see his tenure with the Bucs end after five weeks with the squad. He only played during the previous three weeks and tallied two tackles during that span. He was let go in order to make room for rookie defensive end Pat O'Connor, as the team appears to be looking toward the future.

Buccaneers' Darryl Tapp: Records first sack in Tampa
Tapp posted two solo tackles, including one sack and another tackle for loss, in Sunday's 15-10 win over the Jets.
The veteran pass rusher was active for the first time in a Tampa uniform and immediately paid dividends by notching his 29th career sack. With William Gholston (neck) sidelined Sunday, Tapp played on 33 percent (23 snaps) of the Buccaneers' defensive plays, but that volume is likely to take a hit once the former returns to the field. As a result, Tapp remains off the IDP radar for the moment, although he could gain a measure of relevance in deeper formats if Gholston's absence persists for multiple games.

Tapp was most recently released by the Saints in mid-September. He has 28 career sacks and will presumably provide depth on at defensive end.

Darryl Tapp: Cut by Saints
Tapp was released by the Saints on Saturday, Nick Underhill of The Advocate reports.
Tapp signed with New Orleans just three days ago so the dismissal is a bit perplexing. The initial thought here is that Tapp might find his way back onto the roster following Sunday's contest. Tapp was released to help reinforce a thin secondary.

Saints' Darryl Tapp: Rejoins New Orleans
Tapp signed a contract with the Saints on Wednesday, Josh Katzenstein of The New Orleans Times-Picayune reports.
Tapp was released by the Saints prior to the start of the season after recording six tackles (five solo) and a sack in four preseason games. The 33-year-old likely will only play a reserve role in New Orleans' defensive line rotation, similar to last season.

Darryl Tapp: Let go by Saints
Tapp was released Sunday by the Saints, John Katzenstein of the New Orleans Times-Picayune reports.
Tapp re-signed with the Saints back in March for his 12th NFL season after appearing in all 16 games and recording 17 total tackles last season. The veteran will now begin the 2017 season on the free agent market.
