  • Texans' Woody Marks: Quiet in loss to Denver

Marks carried the ball 10 times for 27 yards and failed to catch any of his three targets in Sunday's 18-15 loss to the Broncos. The rookie split the workload with Nick Chubb almost equally, but neither RB was able to gain much yardage. Marks has seen double-digit carries in three straight games, compiling 104 rushing yards on just 3.4 yards per carry and adding a 7-69-1 line on 12 targets, and he's not making much of a case to pass Chubb on the depth chart completely. The Texans saw C.J. Stroud (concussion) leave Sunday's game early, and if he gets replaced under center by Davis Mills in Week 10, it could mean a bigger emphasis on the ground attack against the Jaguars.

  • Texans' Woody Marks: Sleeper RBs

If you were like me and started Marks as a flex option in several leagues in Week 7 at Seattle, then we got lucky that he caught a touchdown to help him finish with 12.5 PPR points. He had 10 carries for 15 yards and three catches for 20 yards and the score on five targets, but he dominated playing time ahead of Nick Chubb with 63 percent of the snaps. We hope that's a sign of things to come, and Marks should be considered a flex against the 49ers in Week 8. San Francisco has allowed a running back to score at least 17.6 PPR points in four games in a row, and the 49ers have allowed 17 receptions to the past three starting running backs in Kyren Williams, Rachaad White, and Bijan Robinson. Given Marks' role in the passing game, he could be a popular target for C.J. Stroud, especially if Nico Collins (concussion) and Christian Kirk (hamstring) are out.

  • Texans' Woody Marks: Set to suit up Sunday

Marks (calf) doesn't have a designation for Sunday's contest versus the Broncos. Marks showed up as limited due to a calf injury on Thursday's practice report, but a full session Friday has cleared him for Week 9 action. Since the Texans' Week 6 bye, he's turned 28 touches into 146 yards from scrimmage and one TD over the last two games, while veteran RB Nick Chubb has combined for 25 touches for 80 total yards and no TDs during that stretch.

  • Texans' Woody Marks: Added to injury report Thursday

Marks was a limited participant in practice Thursday due to a calf injury. Marks wasn't listed on Wednesday's injury report, so his limitations Thursday are noteworthy. Friday's report will reveal whether the running back approaches Sunday's game against the Broncos with an injury designation or is fully cleared to maintain his key role in Houston's backfield.

  • Texans' Woody Marks: RBs to Start

Marks will hopefully continue to get more work for the Texans in place of Nick Chubb, and Marks has scored at least 12.5 PPR points in three of his past four games, including two in a row against Seattle and San Francisco. His best outings have come when he's involved in the passing game, and he has seven catches for 69 yards and a touchdown on nine targets in his past two outings. Marks doesn't have an easy matchup in Week 9 against Denver, but three running backs in the past four games against the Broncos have scored at least 17.8 PPR points. I like Marks as a No. 2 Fantasy running back in all leagues.

  • Texans' Woody Marks: Productive with extra touches

Marks rushed 11 times for 62 yards and secured all four targets for 49 yards in the Texans' 26-15 win over the 49ers on Sunday. Marks led the Texans in rushing yards despite logging six fewer carries than backfield mate Nick Chubb, and he also made his mark as a pass catcher with a game-long 50-yard reception. Marks' 5.6 yards per carry served as a new career high, and he's now been afforded double-digit carries in three of the last four games while generating an 11-119-1 receiving line in the same span. The ascending rookie next sets his sights on a Week 9 home matchup against a tough Broncos defense.

  • Texans' Woody Marks: Catches touchdown pass on MNF

Marks rushed 10 times for 15 yards and caught three of five targets for 20 yards and a touchdown in Monday's 27-19 loss to Seattle. Marks received double-digit carries for the second time this year, but he barely averaged more than one yard per tote. The fourth-round rookie did almost all of his damage as a receiver, catching his second touchdown of the season to cut Seattle's lead to one score in the fourth quarter. Marks did come up hobbling following his late touchdown grab, so make sure he doesn't pop up on the injury report leading into Sunday's tilt against San Francisco.

  • Texans' Woody Marks: Sleeper RBs

I had high expectations for Mark in Week 5 at Baltimore in his last game, but he only managed seven carries for 24 yards and no catches on one target. The week before against Tennessee, Marks had 17 carries for 69 yards and a touchdown and four catches for 50 yards and a touchdown on five targets. Nick Chubb played better against the Ravens, which hurt Marks, but he should get back on track in Week 7 at Seattle. The Seahawks are No. 1 in most receptions (43) allowed to running backs and No. 2 in receiving yards (344) behind only Dallas. Six running backs against Seattle have scored at least 6.8 PPR points against this defense with just their receiving totals alone. I like Marks as a high-end flex, with his value slightly better in PPR.

  • Texans' Woody Marks: Limited to seven touches

Marks rushed the ball seven times for 24 yards in Sunday's 44-10 win over the Ravens. He did not catch his only target. Marks rotated within drives with Nick Chubb for most of the game, but he still ended up with four fewer carries. Neither back was able to get much going, and three of Marks' seven carries went for one yard or less. While it was a disappointing follow-up to what appeared to be a breakout performance in Week 5, game script didn't help as Houston pulled most of its offensive starters early in the fourth quarter.

  • Texans' Woody Marks: Week 5 Adds (RB Preview)

Marks is still available in 42% of CBS leagues as of Tuesday. By Thursday, that number should be 0%. He has been a star in the passing game, turning eight targets into 96 yards, and the Texans seemed to notice as he had five targets last week. That is the one path he has to being a must-start running back while sharing early downs with Nick Chubb. Of course, the other path is just taking more of those early down touches away from Chubb.

  • Texans' Woody Marks: Week 5 Waiver Priority List

We said last week to add Marks heading into Week 4 against Tennessee, and he had a breakout game against the Titans with 17 carries for 69 yards and a touchdown and four catches for 50 yards and a touchdown on five targets. The Texans will hopefully make Marks their featured running back heading into Week 5 at Baltimore ahead of Nick Chubb, and this is a great matchup since the Ravens are No. 1 with the most Fantasy points allowed to opposing running backs. Marks should be added in all leagues for at least 25 percent of your remaining FAB.

  • Texans' Woody Marks: Makes case to take over backfield

Marks rushed the ball 17 times for 69 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 26-0 win over the Titans. He added four receptions for 50 yards and an additional score. Nick Chubb earned the first carries of the game and the second half, but Marks alternated drives with him in the first half and then the duo split work in the final two quarters. The end result was that the rookie earned 21 total touches to Chubb's 15, and Marks out-gained the veteran 119-62. He particularly made his mark in the fourth quarter, recording a 12-yard touchdown catch and then rushing in a second score from 18 yards away for his first career TDs. Chubb isn't likely to be phased completely out of the offense, and Marks' increased role late may have been influenced by the blowout nature of the contest, but he's making a case to handle a bigger role on a more consistent basis.

  • Texans' Woody Marks: Stashes (RB Preview)

Blake Corum was in this spot last week and he is still a very good stash, but another name to know is Houston's Woody Marks. Marks has seen his number of touches and snap share increase each of the first three weeks and there is a chance at some point the 0-3 Texans choose to go with the young guy over veteran Nick Chubb. Marks came into the NFL with a very good receiving profile and has turned two catches into 46 yards this season. We hope he sees more work in that role moving forward.

  • Texans' Woody Marks: Tallies 36 total yards in loss

Marks rushed six times for 27 yards and brought in one of two targets for nine yards in the Texans' 17-10 loss to the Jaguars on Sunday. Marks logged just three fewer carries than backfield mate Nick Chubb, recording new career highs in rush attempts and rushing yards in the process. The rookie fourth-round pick also recorded a reception for the second consecutive game, and Marks could see his role continue to expand in a Week 4 home matchup against a Titans defense that allowed 102 rushing yards and three touchdowns to Jonathan Taylor on Sunday.

  • Texans' Woody Marks: Minimal role in preseason opener

Marks carried the ball three times for four yards and added 26 yards on one kickoff return in Saturday's 20-10 preseason loss to the Vikings. Even with Joe Mixon (foot/ankle) out of commission and both Nick Chubb (head) and Dameon Pierce sitting out the Texans' exhibition opener, it was veteran special teams ace Dare Ogunbowale who got the start in the backfield. Marks, a 2025 fourth-round pick out of USC, was the second back into the game for Houston, but he didn't see many touches before giving way to Jawhar Jordan. Given the draft capital used to acquire Marks -- the Texans burned a 2026 third-round pick to move up and get him -- his spot on the roster should be secure, but it's not clear if he'll have much of a role in the offense to begin his rookie campaign.
