Patriots' Kayshon Boutte: Hoping to remain with Patriots
Boutte is aware of the trade rumors surrounding him but hopes to remain with the Patriots, Zack Cox of the Boston Herald reports.
The Patriots signed Romeo Doubs and traded for A.J. Brown in the offseason, creating a logjam in a wide receiver room that also includes Boutte, Mack Hollins, DeMario Douglas, Kyle Williams and Efton Chism. Boutte is reportedly off to a strong start at training camp, so he hasn't allowed the trade rumors to affect his performance so far. The 2023 sixth-round pick is entering the final season of his rookie contract.

Patriots' Kayshon Boutte: Off to solid start
Boutte is off to a good start early on in training camp, Andrew Callahan of the Boston Herald reports.
Per Callahan, Boutte, who sat out parts of OTAs but reported for the Patriots' mandatory minicamp last month, has made the two best catches of training camp thus far. Following the team's offseason additions of A.J. Brown in a trade and Romeo Doubs via free agency, there's been speculation that New England may look to deal Boutte, but he remains in the mix for now, and as long as that remains the case, he'll have an opportunity to secure the role as the team's No. 3 WR ahead of Week 1. Also vying for snaps at the position that don't go to Brown and Doubs are Mack Hollins, DeMario Douglas, Kyle Williams and Efton Chism.

Patriots' Kayshon Boutte: Practices fully Tuesday
As expected, Boutte participated in Tuesday's mandatory minicamp practice, Doug Kyed of the Boston Herald reports.
The 2023 sixth-rounder skipped the Patriots' voluntary OTAs and has been the subject of trade speculation in the wake of the team's additions of A.J. Brown in a trade and Romeo Doubs via free agency. However, Boutte participated fully in Tuesday's session and has indicated that he's amenable to sticking around with New England, "whether that's at X (receiver), Z (receiver), F (slot receiver)... whatever I got to do, that's best for me." With Brown and Doubs sitting firmly atop the WR depth chart, Boutte, Mack Hollins, DeMario Douglas and Kyle Williams remain the primary candidates for snaps in three-receiver sets, per Evan Lazar of the Patriots' official site.

Patriots' Kayshon Boutte: To attend mandatory minicamp
Boutte said Sunday that he plans to attend New England's upcoming mandatory minicamp after having skipped spring voluntary workouts, Dan Roche of WBZ reports.
Boutte's standing with the Patriots for 2026 (the final year of his rookie deal) and beyond has been a point of offseason speculation after the team traded for A.J. Brown from the Eagles and inked Romeo Doubs to a four-year deal during free agency. The 24-year-old acknowledged that he tries to block out "the trade rumors or anything like that," saying "I want to be in New England for the rest of my career." Across 14 regular-season games in 2025, Boutte tallied a 33-551-6 line on 46 targets while averaging a career-best 16.7 yards per catch. With he and Brown effectively playing the same X receiver role, however, it may be difficult for Boutte to push for more than rotational reps in 2026.

Patriots' Kayshon Boutte: Added competition for WR targets
With the Patriots having added Romeo Doubs in free agency and trading for A.J. Brown, Evan Lazar of the team's official site suggests that Boutte is in line to compete for snaps in three-receiver sets.
As things stand, Brown and Doubs sit atop the Patriots WR depth chart, leaving Boutte, Mack Hollins, DeMario Douglas and Kyle Williams to compete for snaps and targets that don't go to the top duo. Boutte is coming of a 2025 campaign in which he caught 33 of 46 targets for 551 yards and six touchdowns in 14 regular-season games, but with Brown and Doubs destined to command plenty of attention from QB Drake Maye, Boutte's fantasy upside could take a hit in 2026. It's also possible that New England will elect to explore the possibility of dealing Boutte, with NESN's Dakota Randall noting via ESPN's Adam Schefter that the 24-year-old, who hasn't been present for voluntary OTAs, "has been interested in a trade."

Patriots' Kayshon Boutte: Not at voluntary workouts
Patriots head coach Mike Vrabel said Tuesday that Boutte is not in attendance for the team's voluntary offseason workout program, NFL reporter Jordan Schultz reports.
Boutte has been mentioned in trade rumors as part of the fallout from the steady drumbeat of New England's interest in A.J. Brown, as well as the team's decision to ink Romeo Doubs to a four-year contract at the outset of free agency. A 2023 sixth-round pick, Boutte has compiled back-to-back seasons with over 500 receiving yards, and he posted an impressive 16.7 yards per catch (fifth in the NFL) in 2025.

Patriots' Kayshon Boutte: Steady production in third campaign
Boutte caught 33 of 46 targets for 551 yards and six touchdowns over 14 games during the 2025 regular season.
Boutte saw a slight dip in receiving yards while reeling in 10 fewer passes in his third campaign with New England, but his six scores were double his combined total from his first two years in the league. The wide receiver became a go-to option for second-year quarterback Drake Maye on the deep ball, as his 16.7 yards per reception ranked fifth in the NFL during the regular season. Additionally, Boutte caught nine of 20 targets for a team-high 168 receiving yards, including a 32-yard touchdown, over the Patriots' four postseason contests.
