Luke Lachey: Gets cut from IR
Green Bay waived Lachey (foot) from its injured reserve list with an injury settlement Wednesday, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.
Lachey was going to have to spend the whole 2026 campaign on IR, but he's now on track to become a free agent instead, assuming he clears waivers. Once he's recovered from the left foot injury he's tending to, he'll be able to suit up with any club that offers him a contract.

Packers' Luke Lachey: Hooks back on with Packers
Green Bay signed Lachey to a contract Monday.
Lachey was drafted in the seventh round of the 2025 NFL Draft by Houston and spent all of last season on the Texans' practice squad. The Packers plucked him off waivers in mid-May but subsequently waived him with a failed physical. Lachey appears to be past whatever was ailing him given his reunion with Green Bay. He'll compete for a depth role in the team's TE corps, though it wouldn't be surprising if he begins the campaign on the practice squad.

Texans' Luke Lachey: Nabbed by Texans in seventh round
The Texans selected Lachey in the seventh round of the 2025 NFL Draft, 255th overall.
Lachey racked up 28 catches in two different seasons (2022 and 2024) at Iowa, adding 231 receiving yards last season. Sandwiched in the middle was a significant ankle injury in 2023 that cost him all but three games. He managed only 8.3 yards per reception in 2024 after averaging at least 13.1 yards per catch in each of the three years prior. Lachey doesn't possess elite speed to stretch the field but should be serviceable as a run blocker if called upon and will try to claim a 53-man roster spot in camp.
