Saints' Ja'Lynn Polk: Placed on reserve/retired list
The Saints placed Polk on the reserve/retired list Sunday, Katherine Terrell of ESPN.com reports.
Polk's NFL career has come to an end after just two seasons. The 24-year-old was selected by the Patriots in the second round of the 2024 Draft but caught just 12 passes for 87 yards and two touchdowns across 15 games during his rookie campaign. He was subsequently traded to the Saints last September but missed the entire 2025 season due to a shoulder injury.

Saints' Ja'Lynn Polk: Catching passes in OTAs
Polk (shoulder) is participating in the Saints' OTAs, Ross Jackson of LouisianaSports.net reports.
Polk was forced to miss the entire 2025 season due to a shoulder injury he suffered in the preseason, but it appears he's healthy again with offseason workouts now in progress. New Orleans added first-rounder Jordyn Tyson, fourth-rounder Bryce Lance and sixth-rounder Barion Brown in the 2026 NFL Draft back in April, so Polk's potential path to a spot on the final 53-man roster is a narrow one.

Saints' Ja'Lynn Polk: Heads to Saints via trade
The Patriots traded Polk (shoulder) and a 2028 seventh-round pick to the Saints for a 2027 sixth-round pick Saturday, Dianna Russini of The Athletic reports.
Polk is on season-ending injured reserve due to a shoulder injury and won't make an appearance for the Saints until next season at the earliest. The 2024 second-round pick will get a fresh start with the Saints after struggling as a rookie with just 12 catches on 33 targets for 87 yards and two touchdowns.

Patriots' Ja'Lynn Polk: Lands on season-ending IR
The Patriots placed Polk (shoulder) on injured reserve Tuesday.
The 2024 second-round pick suffered a shoulder injury during the Patriots' preseason opener against Washington that required surgery, and he'll miss his entire sophomore campaign. After he posted a poor 12-87-2 line over 15 regular-season games as a rookie, Polk's future in New England appears very shaky.

Patriots' Ja'Lynn Polk: Reportedly set for shoulder surgery
Polk plans to undergo season-ending shoulder surgery, Chad Graff of The Athletic reports.
Polk underwent a shoulder procedure earlier in the offseason as well, but it's unclear if his current issue is setback-related or a new injury. Confirmation from the Patriots has yet to happen, but at this stage it looks like the second-year wideout likely is headed to IR. Prior to Thursday's news, Polk was in contention for a depth role in New England's crowded wideout corps.
