The Giants cut Wells from the practice squad Tuesday, Dan Salomone of the Giants' official site reports.

  • Antwane Wells: Rejoins Giants' practice squad

New York signed Wells to the practice squad Monday, Dan Salomone of the Giants' official site reports.

Wells spent the offseason with New York but was cut in advance of Week 1. He and Giants starting quarterback Jaxson Dart demonstrated clear chemistry during their time together at Ole Miss, and given that New York is in need of added playmakers at the wide receiver position with Malik Nabers (ACL) done for the year, it's conceivable that Wells could earn an opportunity to make an impact.

  • Antwane Wells: Cut loose by Giants

New York waived Wells on Tuesday, Jordan Raanan of ESPN.com reports.

Wells is among players caught up in roster cuts as the Giants move toward a 53-man group. The undrafted rookie spent his final collegiate season at Ole Miss, where he connected with Jaxson Dart to the tune of 28 catches for 553 yards and six touchdowns across 13 games. That rapport with Dart could assist Wells' chances of resurfacing on the Giants' practice squad.

  • Antwane Wells: Set to reunite with college QB

Wells is slated to sign with the Giants as an undrafted free agent, Art Stapleton of The Bergen Record reports.

Wells was dominant with James Madison for two years before leaping to the SEC and thriving at South Carolina, but his 2023 season was hampered by injuries. He finished his college career at Ole Miss and served as a dependable possession receiver, posting 28 receptions for 553 yards and six touchdowns across 13 games. The Giants drafted Ole Miss QB Jaxson Dart in the first round.
