Bears' Noah Sewell: Moved to reserve/PUP list
Sewell (Achilles) was moved to the reserve/PUP list by the Bears on Sunday.
Sewell suffered a torn Achilles on Dec. 28 against the 49ers, and he is still recovering from the injury. The linebacker spent the entire preseason on the active/PUP list, and he will now be forced to miss at least four games to open the 2026 campaign.

Bears' Noah Sewell: Beginning camp on PUP list
Chicago placed Sewell (Achilles) on the active/PUP list Saturday, Adam Hoge of AllCHGO.com reports.
This news doesn't come as a surprise, as Sewell is still working his way back from the torn Achilles he suffered in late December last year. It's not yet clear what the linebacker's timeline to return is, though he's expected to be able to get back on the field at some point this season. When healthy, Sewell is likely to have a role as a rotational linebacker while also contributing on special teams.

Bears' Noah Sewell: Placed on IR
Coach Ben Johnson said the Bears will place Sewell (Achilles) on injured reserve Wednesday, Courtney Cronin of ESPN.com reports.
Sewell suffered a torn Achilles in Sunday night's loss to the 49ers and will miss Week 18 and the playoffs for Chicago. Sewell served as the Bears' top reserve linebacker and a top special-teamer. He appeared in 13 games, making nine starts, and recorded a career-high 59 tackles (33 solo) and one forced fumble.

Bears' Noah Sewell: Likely sustained torn Achilles
Sewell is believed to have suffered a torn Achilles during Sunday's 42-38 loss to the 49ers, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
The third-year pro from Oregon was carted off the field with what appeared to be a serious injury in the third quarter of Sunday's loss. Across 13 appearances in 2025, Sewell recorded 59 total tackles and one forced fumble while contributing on defense (391 snaps) and special teams (147 snaps). Expect Amen Ogbongbemiga to have an expanded role as the Bears' top reserve linebacker while Sewell is likely sidelined for the remainder of the season.

Bears' Noah Sewell: Carted off with ankle injury
Sewell has been ruled out for the remainder of Sunday night's game versus San Francisco with an ankle injury.
Sewell looked like he suffered a serious injury in the third quarter and had to be carted off the field. Prior to leaving the game, Sewell recorded just one tackle. D'Marco Jackson, Daniel Hardy and Amen Ogbongbemiga are the remaining reserve linebackers for Chicago.

Bears' Noah Sewell: Lining up for return
Sewell (elbow) was estimated to have practiced in full at Wednesday's walkthrough.
Sewell has missed the Bears' last two games with an elbow injury. His return to full practice suggests he'll be ready to suit up in Week 14 against the Packers, and he should occupy a key role with Tremaine Edmunds (groin) sidelined.

Bears' Noah Sewell: Remaining out Week 13
Sewell (elbow) has been ruled out for Friday's tilt against the Eagles.
Sewell will miss a second straight game due to an elbow injury. He was listed as a non-participant in all three practice sessions (though two were walkthroughs) this week, so his status for the Sunday, Dec. 7 clash against Green Bay is also hazy. The Bears are very depleted at the linebacker position this week, as Tremaine Edmunds (groin) landed on IR on Saturday and Ruben Hyppolite (shoulder) and T.J. Edwards (hand) have both also been ruled out for the matchup versus Philadelphia.

Bears' Noah Sewell: Misses Wednesday's practice
Sewell (elbow) didn't practice Wednesday.
Sewell has opened the Bears' week of practice with consecutive DNPs, suggesting he likely won't be available for Friday's matchup against the Eagles. If the Oregon product is forced to miss his second game in a row due to an elbow injury, Daniel Hardy and Amen Ogbongbemiga could have expanded roles on the Bears' first team defense.

Bears' Noah Sewell: Starts week as DNP
Sewell (elbow) was listed as a non-participant on the Bears' practice estimate Tuesday.
Sewell was sidelined for Sunday's game versus the Steelers with an elbow injury, and now his availability for Week 13 is in jeopardy. He'll likely need to manage some activity at practice Wednesday or Thursday to give himself a chance of suiting up Friday at Philadelphia.

Bears' Noah Sewell: Won't play Sunday
Sewell (elbow) has been ruled out ahead of Sunday's matchup against the Steelers.
Sewell didn't practice all week after likely sustaining an elbow injury in the Bears' Week 11 win over the Vikings, so it's no surprise that he won't suit up Sunday. The Oregon product has been one of Chicago's top defenders this season, recording 55 total tackles and one forced fumble over nine appearances. While he's out in Week 12, expect D'Marco Jackson to have an expanded role in the Bears' linebacker corps.
