  • Cardinals' Xavier Weaver: Limited at walkthrough

Weaver (hamstring) was limited at Wednesday's walkthrough, Zach Gershman of the Cardinals' official site reports. Both Weaver and Marvin Harrison (heel) returned to the practice field Wednesday, but both players have some work to do to prove their respective levels of health ahead of Sunday's game versus the Falcons. Currently, Michael Wilson and Jalen Brooks are the only healthy wide receivers on Arizona's active roster.

  • Cardinals' Xavier Weaver: Ruled out for Week 15

Weaver (hamstring) has been ruled out for Sunday's game against the Texans, Bo Brack of GoPHNX.com reports. Weaver has not yet practiced in any capacity since he popped up on last Thursday's injury report with a hamstring issue. With Marvin Harrison (heel) also ruled out versus Houston, expect at least two of Jalen Brooks, Bryson Green, Tejhaun Palmer, Trent Sherfield or Steven Sims to be elevated from the practice squad for Sunday's contest.

  • Cardinals' Xavier Weaver: Still not practicing

Weaver (hamstring) was a non-participant at Thursday's practice, Bo Brack of GoPHNX.com reports. Weaver hasn't practiced since last Thursday, when he initially popped up as limited due to a hamstring injury. He, along with top WR Marvin Harrison (heel), hasn't been able to mix into drills so far this week, seemingly putting both players on the outside looking in to play Sunday at Houston. Currently, Michael Wilson and Andre Baccellia are the only healthy options at the position on the Cardinals' active roster, while Jalen Brooks, Trent Sherfield, Tejhaun Palmer, Bryson Green and Steven Sims are possible practice-squad elevations for Week 15 action.

  • Cardinals' Xavier Weaver: Looking unlikely for Week 14

Weaver, who is officially questionable to suit up against the Rams on Sunday due to a hamstring issue, isn't expected to play, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports. Cardinals No. 1 wideout Marvin Harrison (calf) and depth wideout Greg Dortch (chest, IR) have already been ruled out for Sunday's matchup, so Weaver could have a big role if he's able to suit up. However, he's not trending in the direction of being able to do so after logging an FP/LP/DNP practice progression during the week. Needless to say, Arizona's wide-receiver corps is going to be severely depleted, especially if Weaver is indeed inactive. Michael Wilson should get all the targets he can handle, while the team's other WR options will include Andre Baccellia along with practice-squad elevations Trent Sherfield and Jalen Brooks.

  • Cardinals' Xavier Weaver: Questionable after DNP

Weaver (hamstring) didn't practice Friday and is listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the Rams, Josh Weinfuss of ESPN.com reports. The Cardinals added Weaver to the injury report midweek, listing him as a limited participant Thursday. An absence Friday supports the notion that Weaver was injured during Thursday's session, leaving him uncertain to play ahead of a 4:25 p.m. ET kickoff Sunday. With Marvin Harrison (calf) and Greg Dortch (chest) already ruled out, the Cardinals will need help from the practice squad behind Michael Wilson and Andre Baccellia.

  • Cardinals' Xavier Weaver: Pops up on injury report

Weaver (hamstring) was a limited participant in practice Thursday, Zach Gershman of the Cardinals' official site reports. It appears to be a new issue for the wide receiver, as he was not listed on Wednesday's report. Weaver stands behind Marvin Harrison, Michael Wilson and Greg Dortch on the depth chart, but Harrison (heel) and Dortch (chest) haven't practiced yet this week. If both end up missing Sunday's game, Weaver could see significant playing time.

  • Cardinals' Xavier Weaver: Blanks in Week 13

Weaver failed to catch his lone target during Sunday's 20-17 loss to the Buccaneers. Weaver went without a catch for the fifth time this season in the Cardinals' Week 13 loss. However, he still played 30 offensive snaps, which was the third most amongst Arizona wideouts Sunday. Weaver has caught just three of eight targets for 24 yards in seven appearances this season, and he'll likely remain a minimal portion of the Cardinals' offense in the Week 14 matchup against the Rams.

  • Cardinals' Xavier Weaver: Suiting up Sunday

Weaver (shoulder) doesn't have an injury designation for Sunday's game against the Buccaneers, Bo Brack of GoPHNX.com reports. Weaver logged a pair of limited sessions earlier in the week, which was capped off with a full session Friday that confirms his availability for Sunday's contest. The wide receiver earned 73 percent and 68 percent offensive snap shares the last two weeks in the absence of Marvin Harrison (appendix). With Harrison questionable for Sunday's matchup, if he is unable to go Weaver is in line to continue being utilized at a high rate by the Cardinals' offense.

  • Cardinals' Xavier Weaver: Dealing with shoulder issue

Weaver practiced in a limited fashion Wednesday due to a shoulder injury, Zach Gershman of the Cardinals' official site reports. Weaver made four brief appearances through the first 10 weeks of the season, but Marvin Harrison's appendectomy has opened up snaps and targets over the last two games, a span in which he earned at least 67 percent snap shares and hauled in three of six targets for 24 yards. Harrison returned to drills Wednesday as a limited participant, and if he's able to suit up Sunday at Tampa Bay, Weaver likely would be relegated to his previous sparse role in Arizona's offense.

  • Cardinals' Xavier Weaver: Minimal production against 49ers

Weaver caught two of three targets for 15 yards in Sunday's 41-22 loss to the 49ers. Weaver returned to action in Week 11 after missing Week 10 due to an ankle injury. In his return, the second-year wideout recorded his first two receptions of the season and played 72 percent of Arizona's offensive snaps, by far his highest snap share of the 2025 campaign. Weaver's increased usage coincided with teammate Marvin Harrison missing the contest due to appendicitis and quarterback Jacoby Brissett attempting 57 passes against San Francisco. Weaver should remain far off the fantasy radar in Week 12 when the Cardinals host the Jaguars.

  • Cardinals' Xavier Weaver: On track to return Week 11

Weaver (ankle) was a full participant in Thursday's practice, Zach Gershman of the Cardinals' official site reports. An ankle injury prevented Weaver from playing against the Seahawks in Week 10, but his full practice participation Thursday puts him on track to play in Sunday's NFC West tilt against the 49ers. Weaver has appeared in just four regular-season games and has seen limited snaps on offense and special teams, but he could see more work as a wideout in Week 11 due to the absence of Marvin Harrison (appendix).

  • Cardinals' Xavier Weaver: Won't play Week 10

Weaver (ankle) is inactive for Sunday's game against the Seahawks. An ankle issue limited Weaver in practice during Week 10 prep, and the injury is severe enough for him to be sidelined for Sunday's NFC West tilt. Greg Dortch will serve as the Cardinals' primary returner on kickoffs and punts in Weaver's absence.

  • Cardinals' Xavier Weaver: Draws first target of season

Weaver played 14 of the Cardinals' 67 snaps on offense and failed to corral his lone target in Thursday's 23-20 loss to the Seahawks. Active for just the second time all season, Weaver served as the Cardinals' No. 4 wideout while Zay Jones (concussion) was sidelined. The 24-year-old is in the midst of his second season in Arizona but has yet to record his first NFL reception. If Jones is able to clear concussion protocol ahead of Sunday's game against the Titans, Weaver could find himself back on the Cardinals' inactive list.

  • Cardinals' Xavier Weaver: Past oblique injury

Weaver (oblique) was a full participant in Wednesday's practice, Zach Gershman of the Cardinals' official site reports. Weaver missed the first two games of the regular season after injuring his oblique in early September, but the 23-year-old wideout appears to be on track to make his NFL debut against the Lions in Week 3. Weaver provides depth for a Cardinals pass-catching corps headlined by Marvin Harrison and Trey McBride.

  • Cardinals' Xavier Weaver: Starts week limited

Weaver (oblique) was a limited participant during Wednesday's practice, Theo Mackie of The Arizona Republic reports. Weaver didn't suit up for the Cardinals' season-opening loss to the Bills this past Sunday after failing to participate in any practices leading up to the contest. He was at least able to participate in a limited capacity Wednesday, which boosts his chances of making his NFL debut Week 2 against the Rams.

  • Cardinals' Xavier Weaver: Could return Week 2

Head coach Jonathan Gannon told reporters Monday that Weaver (oblique) is expected to be back on the field this week, Josh Weinfuss of ESPN.com reports. After missing the Cardinals' Week 1 outing with an oblique injury, it appears Weaver is nearing a return to the field. The undrafted wideout from Colorado surprisingly made Arizona's 53-man roster after an impressive preseason, and he's expected to serve as a depth piece in the team's wide receiver room once he moves past his oblique issue.

  • Cardinals' Xavier Weaver: Officially out for Week 1

Weaver (oblique) is ruled out for Sunday's game against the Bills, Bo Brack of GoPHNX.com reports. Weaver's oblique injury prevented him from practicing in any capacity this week, so it's not surprising to see him ruled out. The undrafted rookie wide receiver's next chance to make his NFL debut will come Week 2 versus the Rams.

  • Cardinals' Xavier Weaver: Sits out practice

Weaver "nicked" his oblique, according to head coach Jonathan Gannon, and did not practice Monday, Bo Brack of GoPHNX.com reports. Weaver's injury comes at an inopportune time, as the 23-year-old was able to make the 53-man roster despite going undrafted out of Colorado. Likely aiding his inclusion on the active roster was the five-game suspension of Zay Jones for violating the NFL's personal conduct policy. Any missed time for Weaver could be lost opportunity with Jones on the sidelines. However, Weaver will work to get back on the field sometime this week ahead of the team's season opener Sunday against the Bills.

  • Xavier Weaver: Lands with Arizona

Weaver intends to sign with the Cardinals as an undrafted free agent, Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reports. Weaver will get $255,000 guaranteed, according to Pelissero. After spending four years at South Florida, Weaver transferred to Colorado for his 2023 campaign and had his best statistical season with a 68-908-4 receiving line. He led the team in receiving and added a pair of rushing scores. Arizona used first- and sixth-rounds picks on wideouts Marvin Harrison and Tejhaun Palmer. Weaver will look to win a job this summer.
