Owens (hamstring) has been ruled out for Sunday's game against the Giants.
A hamstring injury prevented Owens from practicing all week, and his next chance to play is Week 6 against the 49ers on Monday, Oct. 19. Given that Owens, Nick Cross (illness) and Percy Butler (hamstring) have all been ruled out, the only healthy safeties on the Commanders' roster are Jeremy Reaves and Quan Martin.

Owens ended the 2024 season on injured reserve with an ankle injury suffered in Week 16. His high-level play on special teams last season has earned him an expanded role on defense, but to what degree remains to seen. The Commanders placed Owens (ankle) on injured reserve Saturday, Ben Standig of The Athletic reports.
Owens will miss the last two games of the season due to an ankle injury. The undrafted free agent out of Texas Tech will end the regular season with 11 tackles (seven solo) and one forced fumble across 12 games while playing solely on special teams. He could be activated off IR and play for the Commanders again, but only if Washington were to make it to the Super Bowl.
