Saints' Quincy Riley: Defends 10 passes in rookie year
Riley played in 17 regular-season games during the 2025 campaign, logging 35 tackles (29 solo), 10 passes defended, including one interception, and one forced fumble.
Riley emerged as the Saints' top slot cornerback, and he finished third on the team in passes defended despite not playing a single defensive snap over the first two weeks of the season. The Louisville product played a big role in a New Olreans defense that ranked fourth against the pass in 2025. He could be in line for an even larger role if the Saints do not retain pending free-agent cornerback Alontae Taylor.

Saints' Quincy Riley: Participating in OTAs
Riley (undisclosed) is participating in OTAs.
The cornerback and fourth-round pick in the 2025 draft missed a rookie minicamp session in May because he was recovering from offseason surgery. Saints coach Kellen Moore did not reveal the specific injury, though he did say it was unrelated to the ankle issue from Riley's college career at Louisville. The rookie might have a chance to compete with Ugo Amadi for New Orleans' slot corner role in 2025.

Saints' Quincy Riley: Recovering from surgery
Riley (undisclosed) is not participating in Saturday's rookie minicamp session due to his recovery from offseason surgery, Matthew Paras of The New Orleans Times-Picayune reports.
Saints head coach Kellen Moore declined to reveal the specifics of Riley's surgery, but he did note that the rookie fourth-round pick's current injury is unrelated to the ankle issue he dealt with during his time at Louisville. The next chance for Riley to take a tangible step forward in his recovery and begin handling on-field work will come during OTAs in late May or mandatory minicamp in June.

Saints' Quincy Riley: Big Easy bound
The Saints selected Riley in the fourth round of the 2025 NFL Draft, 131st overall.
New Orleans came into the draft needing some cornerback help and Riley helps fill that need. He is highly experienced with six years in college split between Middle Tennessee and Louisville. Riley showed great coverage instincts and an ability to find the ball with 29 pass breakups in his two years as a starter with Louisville. At 5-foot-10, 194 pounds, Riley projects as a slot corner even though he was primarily on the boundary in college.
