Chiefs' Christian Roland-Wallace: Active for preseason opener
Roland-Wallace (back) notched two tackles in Saturday's 20-12 preseason loss to the Rams.
Roland-Wallace had been dealing with a back injury dating back to last December, but he was able to play in the team's preseason opener, officially leaving behind the injury. The cornerback is competing for a depth spot in the secondary with Kansas City this season, and he was able to play 44 percent of the team's defensive snaps against Los Angeles.

Chiefs' Christian Roland-Wallace: Lands on IR
The Chiefs placed Roland-Wallace (back) on injured reserve Saturday.
Roland-Wallace had already sat out the team's Week 13 loss to Dallas and will now be forced to miss an additional four weeks. Mike Edwards, who was signed to the active roster from the practice squad in a corresponding transaction, should step in as the team's starting slot cornerback going forward with Roland-Wallace sidelined.

Chiefs' Christian Roland-Wallace: Remains out for Week 14
Roland-Wallace (back) has been ruled out ahead of Sunday night's matchup against the Texans, Matt McMullen of the Chiefs' official site reports.
Roland-Wallace was sidelined for Kansas City's Week 13 loss to the Cowboys and didn't practice Wednesday or Thursday, so it's no surprise that he'll miss Sunday's contest. Expect Nohl Williams to operate as the Chiefs' top slot corner while Roland-Wallace remains out Week 14.

Chiefs' Christian Roland-Wallace: Logs DNP on Wednesday
Roland-Wallace (back) won't practice Wednesday, Pete Sweeney of ArrowheadPride.com reports.
The 24-year-old didn't play in the Chiefs' Week 13 loss to the Cowboys, and his DNP on Wednesday suggests he's still dealing with a back injury. Roland-Wallace likely needs to upgrade to at least limited practice Thursday or Friday in order to suit up for the Week 14 matchup against the Texans on Sunday night.

Chiefs' Christian Roland-Wallace: Missing Week 13
Roland-Wallace (back) has been ruled out ahead of Thursday's matchup against the Cowboys.
The USC product downgraded from limited practice Tuesday to a DNP on Wednesday, so it's no surprise that he won't suit up for Thursday's contest. Roland-Wallace has appeared in all 11 of Kansas City's games this season, recording 34 total tackles and three passes defensed, including one interception, over 351 total snaps (189 on defense, 162 on special teams). Nohl Williams could have an expanded role as a slot corner while Roland-Wallace is sidelined in Week 13.

Chiefs' Christian Roland-Wallace: Finds special-teams role in 2024
Roland-Wallace recorded 34 tackles (23 solo), an interception and a forced fumble in 17 regular-season games this season.
The cornerback played on 248 special-teams snaps and on 183 defensive snaps during the regular season. He played almost exclusively on special teams in the postseason. Roland-Wallace signed a three-year, $2.84 million contract with the Chiefs last May and will try to find a role again in 2025.

Chiefs' Christian Roland-Wallace: Paces team with 10 stops Wednesday
Roland-Wallace tallied 10 tackles (six solo) in Wednesday's 29-10 Week 17 win over Pittsburgh.
With Chamarri Conner (concussion) unable to suit up, Roland-Wallace logged a season-high 65 percent of KC's defensive snaps and recorded a career-best 10 tackles. The rookie cornerback has been getting more work in the secondary of late after playing exclusively on special teams from Weeks 10 to 14. Whether Roland-Wallace gets another start Week 18 versus Denver likely will depend upon Conner's ability to return to action.
