    Bills Still Need Another Playmaker

Fantasy News

  • Bills' Cam Lewis: Suiting up against Miami

Lewis (shoulder) is active for Thursday's game against the Dolphins. Lewis had a questionable tag heading into the game due to a shoulder injury after practicing in limited fashion throughout the week. He'll be ready for action and could see some work in the secondary after playing 33 defensive snaps in Week 2.

  • Bills' Cam Lewis: Questionable for TNF

Lewis (shoulder) is questionable to play in Thursday night's contest in Miami. Lewis was a limited participant at practice throughout the week while dealing with an apparent shoulder injury. The 28-year-old operates as a depth option at both safety and cornerback with Buffalo, so his absence would carry some significance for the team. If he can't go in Week 3, Brandon Codrington and Sam Franklin would be candidates to see an increase in workload.

  • Bills' Cam Lewis: Logs full practice Wednesday

Lewis (calf) was not listed on Buffalo's injury report Wednesday. Lewis dealt with a calf injury during training camp that forced him to miss some preseason action, but it appears he'll be healthy for Sunday's game versus the Ravens. He figures to play a depth role in the Bills' defensive backfield in 2025.

  • Bills' Cam Lewis: Not playing Sunday

Lewis (calf) isn't suiting up for Sunday's preseason game against the Bears, Lance Lysowski of The Buffalo News reports. Lewis appears to have picked up an apparent calf injury during training camp and he will now be forced to miss Buffalo's second preseason contest. The safety will look to return to the field for Saturday's preseason finale in Tampa Bay.

  • Bills' Cam Lewis: Has career-best season

Lewis recorded 68 tackles (47 solo) and four passes defensed, including an interception, over 17 regular-season games in 2024. After not reaching 150 defensive snaps in any of his first four seasons as a pro, Lewis was on the field for 569 defensive snaps in 2024. This was due in large part to injuries to other Buffalo defensive backs, most notably a four-game absence from regular starting slot cornerback Taron Johnson early in the season. Lewis is slated to return to the Bills in 2025, and the team may need to shake up its corner rotation if Rasul Douglas leaves in free agency.

  • Bills' Cam Lewis: Inks new deal

Lewis re-signed with the Bills on a two-year contract Monday. Lewis will remain in Buffalo after a 2023 campaign that saw him play a career-high 134 snaps on defense and 319 special-teams snaps in 17 regular-season contests. The 26-year-old will likely maintain a limited role on defense in 2024, but he'll work to carve out a larger role there during the team's offseason programs.

  • Bills' Cam Lewis: Active Sunday

Lewis (shoulder) is active for Sunday's game against the Patriots, Alaina Getzenberg of ESPN.com reports. The cornerback carried a questionable tag into Sunday. Lewis was active last Sunday versus the Giants but did not see any defensive snaps. The fifth-year depth player has six tackles in six games this season.

  • Bills' Cam Lewis: Questionable for divisional matchup

Lewis is listed as questionable for Sunday's game at New England due to a shoulder issue, Alec White of the Bills' official site reports. Lewis is normally a depth piece on defense, not exceeding 14 percent of the defensive snaps in any game this season, but the Bills have been working with a thin secondary ever since Tre'Davious White was lost for the season with a torn Achilles, so every healthy body matters.

  • Bills' Cam Lewis: Returns in full Friday

Lewis (forearm/illness) was listed as a full participant on Friday's practice estimate and doesn't carry an injury designation heading into Sunday's game against the Browns. Lewis missed both Wednesday's and Thursday's practice sessions as the result of an illness and forearm issue, but he's since been marked down as a full participant on Friday's practice estimate and expects to be made available for the Week 11 matchup versus Cleveland. With Jordan Poyer (elbow) currently at risk of missing his third consecutive game, Lewis might be looking at another busy afternoon as one of the Bills' starting safeties alongside Damar Hamlin.

  • Bills' Cam Lewis: Misses Wednesday's session

Lewis missed practice Wednesday due to a forearm injury/illness. Of course, Bills fans were feeling ill after Lewis failed to bat the ball down on a 4th-and-18 play that would have sealed Sunday's game against the Vikings, but to his credit he owned up to the error. We're not sure if either issue is serious for Lewis or if he just needs more of a maintenance day. Lewis was thrown into heavy action in Week 10 due to the Buffalo secondary being so banged up, and he posted a career-high nine tackles.

  • Bills' Cam Lewis: Not listed on injury report

Lewis (nose) isn't listed on the Bills' injury report Monday. Lewis suffered a nose injury during Friday's preseason finale but appears healthy heading into Thursday's season-opening matchup against the Rams. The third-year defensive back has appeared in 12 games over the last two seasons with Buffalo, posting 14 tackles and one forced fumble.

  • Bills' Cam Lewis: Heads to COVID list

Lewis was placed on the reserve/COVID-19 list Monday, Chris Brown of the Bills' official site reports. The cornerback tested positive for the virus, according to Tom Pelissero of NFL Network. Even though the Bills pulled off a major win Sunday at New England, like a lot of teams, they are starting to suffer multiple hits due to injuries and COVID-19-related issues. Lewis has seen more than 50 percent of the special-teams snaps the last two weeks. If he's vaccinated, he'll have time to clear the protocols and not miss any action heading into Sunday's game against the Falcons.

  • Bills' Cam Lewis: Injured in loss

Lewis suffered a wrist injury early in Monday's loss to the Chiefs and did not return, Chris Brown of the Bills' official site reports. That explains Lewis' low snap count of 10 defensive plays in a game where he received a surprise start as the third cornerback over Taron Johnson. Lewis did not record any stats in his abbreviated outing. We'll see if he can shake the injury quickly in what's now a short week before the Week 7 contest at the Jets.
