Lewis left the field on a cart with a trainer Saturday after appearing to suffer a left leg injury, Sean Hammond of the Chicago Tribune reports.
Lewis was hurt during a two-minute drill and limped off the field while favoring his left leg. Though he was carted to the locker room, Greg Braggs Jr. of CHGO Sports notes that it's "standard procedure" for players to get a cart when hurt on Fields 3 and 4 (as Lewis was), whether the injury is serious or not. With that in mind, Lewis' outlook is hazy for the time being.

Defensive coordinator Dennis Allen stated that Lewis is shifting his focus from nickel to safety with Coby Bryant out eight to 10 weeks after suffering a knee injury during training camp. Lewis is heading to Chicago after serving as a reliable backup for the Bills over his first six seasons. The defensive back played in all 17 regular-season games (four starts) for Buffalo in 2025, accumulating 43 tackles (33 solo), four passes defensed, and two forced fumbles. Lewis has experience at slot cornerback, outside cornerback and safety. The 28-year-old's versatility should serve Chicago's secondary well in 2026.
