Bernard-Converse sustained a groin injury in the Jets' second preseason game against the Panthers on Aug. 17. The 2023 sixth-round pick should be good to suit up for Week 1 against the 49ers after opening the week as a full participant in Thursday's practice. Bernard-Converse was placed on the team's reserve/PUP list on July 19 after sustaining a foot injury and missed the team's training camp. He was taken by the Jets in the sixth round of the 2023 draft after registering 45 tackles (30 solo) and two interceptions in his final season at LSU. He could see some significant playing time in the Jets' secondary right off the bat with injuries to Sauce Gardner (concussion), D.J. Reed (concussion) and Brandin Echols (hamstring).
