Fantasy News

  • Giants' Daniel Bellinger: Inactive in Week 9

Bellinger (neck) is listed as inactive Sunday versus the 49ers, Dan Salomone of the Giants' official site reports. Bellinger injured his neck last Sunday at Philadelphia, and he then didn't practice all week before the Giants listed him as doubtful to suit up Week 9. Now that Bellinger officially isn't playing, Theo Johnson should dominate TE reps for New York, but Chris Manhertz and Thomas Fidone also will be available for snaps and the occasional target. Bellinger's next chance for game action is next Sunday's contest in Chicago.

  • Giants' Daniel Bellinger: Doubtful for Week 9

Bellinger (neck) is doubtful for Sunday's game against the 49ers, Ralph Vacchiano of Fox Sports reports. Bellinger suffered the neck injury in last Sunday's loss to the Eagles. With Bellinger unlikely to face San Francisco, Chris Manhertz should handle most of the blocking duties alongside Theo Johnson at tight end.

  • Giants' Daniel Bellinger: Missing another practice

Bellinger (neck) didn't participate in Thursday's practice, Dan Salomone of the Giants' official site reports. With a pair of absences from practice to begin game Week 9 prep, Bellinger looks to be in danger of missing Sunday's against the 49ers. If Bellinger is unable to play this weekend, Chris Manhertz (illness) and Thomas Fidone would be the available depth options at tight end behind Theo Johnson, who played a season-high 98 percent of the offensive snaps in the Giants' Week 8 loss to the Eagles.

  • Giants' Daniel Bellinger: Unable to practice

Giants coach Brian Daboll said Bellinger (neck) will not practice Wednesday, Dan Duggan of The Athletic reports. Bellinger will not practice due to a neck injury sustained during New York's loss to Philadelphia in Week 8. If Bellinger's injury forces him to sit out versus the 49ers on Sunday, No. 1 tight end Theo Johnson will figure to take on an increased workload. With rookie running back Cam Skattebo (ankle) and top wideout Malik Nabers (knee - ACL) both out for the year, the Giants' tight ends corps could become a larger factor on offense going forward.

  • Giants' Daniel Bellinger: Sustains neck injury

Bellinger suffered a neck injury during Sunday's contest in Philadelphia, Dan Salomone of the Giants' official site reports. Bellinger combined for seven catches (on 10 targets) for 140 yards and one touchdown in New York's three games prior to Sunday, and he exited Week 8 action having hauled in his only target for 21 yards. As long as Bellinger is sidelined, Theo Johnson will take on a larger role among Giants tight ends.

  • Giants' Daniel Bellinger: Leads Big Blue in receiving yards

Bellinger caught all four of his targets for 52 yards in Sunday's 26-14 loss to the Saints. The 52 receiving yards not only led the Giants on the afternoon, they were a season high for Bellinger, who caught multiple passes in a game for the first time in 2025. The elevated usage came in the wake of Malik Nabers (knee) being lost for the season, as rookie QB Jaxson Dart wasn't able to stretch the field at all -- Bellinger's 18-yard grab in the first quarter was New York's longest completion. Theo Johnson also saw more volume than usual and was on the other end of both of Dart's TD passes, making him the top option for the team at tight end, but Bellinger could see enough targets to have some deep-league utility during a Week 6 clash with the Eagles.

  • Giants' Daniel Bellinger: Collects only target Week 1

Bellinger secured his only target for 14 yards in a Week 1 loss against the Commanders on Sunday. Bellinger got New York down to Washington's three-yard line on a 14-yard connection with Russell Wilson in the fourth quarter, but the Giants were unable to emerge with a score. Theo Johnson dominated tight-end snaps for New York in Week 1 with 53, while Chris Manhertz logged 18 and Bellinger recorded 15. Despite Bellinger outdoing Johnson in receiving yardage in the loss, the latter figures to be the lead pass-catching option among New York's tight-end corps as long as he remains healthy.

  • Giants' Daniel Bellinger: Back at practice

Bellinger (undisclosed) returned to practice Tuesday, Evan Barnes of Newsday reports. Bellinger missed the Giants' second exhibition this past weekend, but his injury evidently wasn't serious. Bellinger is competing with blocker Chris Manhertz and catch-first TE Greg Dulcich for a role behind starter Theo Johnson.

  • Giants' Daniel Bellinger: Doesn't suit up Saturday

Bellinger (undisclosed) didn't play in Saturday's preseason win against the Jets, and Dan Duggan of The Athletic reports that the tight end is dealing with an injury. The nature of the issue that kept Bellinger sidelined is unclear, and it may not be serious given that he was able to run on a side field during the practice week, according to Duggan. With Theo Johnson locked in as New York's starting TE for the coming campaign, Bellinger doesn't have much appeal as a fantasy asset, though he could be a helpful component of the Giants offense for his work as a blocker. However, he may have competition for that role with Chris Manhertz (undisclosed), and New York also has Greg Dulcich among its tight-end corps.

  • Giants' Daniel Bellinger: Quiet in Week 16 loss

Bellinger caught one of two targets for five yards in Sunday's 34-7 defeat against Atlanta. Giants quarterback Drew Lock took to the air 39 times in the loss, but 26 of those targets went to either Malik Nabers (14) or Wan'Dale Robinson (12). That left little opportunity for the rest of New York's pass catchers, and Bellinger finished with his fewest receptions, targets and receiving yards since taking over as the team's starter in place of the injured Theo Johnson (foot) in Week 14. The Giants have been playing from behind most games throughout the season, which often leads to pass-happy game scripts, but that doesn't guarantee substantial targets for Bellinger given the team's determination to get its wideouts -- especially Nabers -- the ball.

  • Giants' Daniel Bellinger: Dealing with minor injury

Giants head coach Brian Daboll said Wednesday that Bellinger has been limited during spring practices due to an undisclosed injury, Dan Duggan of The Athletic reports. Bellinger's outlook for 2024 improved earlier this week after incumbent starter Darren Waller announced his retirement Monday, leaving Bellinger as the tentative No. 1 option on the depth chart at tight end. The Giants also have rookie fourth-round pick Theo Johnson as a potential receiving threat at the position, but Bellinger should handle most of the first-team reps at the start of training camp. Daboll downplayed the injury Wednesday, so he seemingly expects Bellinger to be ready to go for camp.

  • Giants' Daniel Bellinger: Posts decent numbers again Week 17

Bellinger finished Sunday's loss to the Rams with four catches on four targets for 39 yards. Darren Waller logged more targets (six), catches (five) and yards (51) than Bellinger, but the latter still had a reasonably productive performance. Bellinger's longest catch went for 18 yards, and he also had a 14-yard reception that he immediately followed with a nine-yard catch on the following play. Waller has undoubtedly been the better fantasy asset when healthy this season, but Bellinger has come on strong even with Waller able to suit up over the past two weeks, putting up an 8-82-0 line on nine targets. The Giants have little to play for in their season finale against Philadelphia next weekend, so the team could opt to relax the veteran Waller's workload, which could benefit Bellinger to some extent against a defense that has been middle-of-the-pack against tight ends this season.

  • Giants' Daniel Bellinger: Nabs two catches as Waller's backup

Bellinger caught both of his targets or 13 yards in Sunday's 24-6 Week 15 loss to New Orleans. Bellinger worked as New York's starting tight end while Waller was on IR with a hamstring injury between Week 9 and Week 14, but he returned to a backup role with the latter returning Sunday. Bellinger averaged a modest 2.2 receptions for 27.6 yards during his five-game starting stint, and he wasn't far off those numbers while working behind Waller against the Saints. Waller appeared to come out of the contest in good health, so Bellinger should again see limited receiving opportunities next Monday against the Eagles.

  • Giants' Daniel Bellinger: Nabs two caches in Week 14 win

Bellinger caught both of his targets for 15 yards Monday in a 24-22 win over the Packers. Bellinger saw modest opportunity in the contest, but he still finished third on the Giants in receiving yards. The second-year tight end continues to fill in for the injured Darren Waller (hamstring, IR), though Bellinger hasn't come close to matching Waller's pass-catching prowess, as he hasn't surpassed three receptions in any game so far this season. Waller ran routes on the field earlier this week, and if he is able to return to the action before the end of the campaign, Bellinger's opportunities as a receiver would logically shrink.

  • Giants' Daniel Bellinger: Misses practice with illness

Bellinger didn't practice Friday due to an illness, Pat Leonard of the New York Daily News reports. Assuming the ailment isn't too significant, Bellinger could still return to the field Saturday for the Giants' final Week 14 practice, which would clear up any concern about his status heading into Monday's game against Green Bay. While Darren Waller (hamstring) has been sidelined for the Giants' last four games before the team's Week 13 bye, Bellinger had served as New York's top tight end and compiled a 9-123-0 receiving line on 10 targets. The Giants have yet to designate Waller for return from injured reserve as of Friday, so Bellinger will presumably be in store for another sizable snap count Monday if he can overcome the illness.

  • Giants' Daniel Bellinger: Goes without target Sunday

Bellinger went without a target while playing 39 of the Giants' 77 snaps on offense in Sunday's 14-9 loss to the Bills. Sunday's game marked just the second time all season that Bellinger failed to draw a target. Aside from the Giants' Week 4 loss to the Seahawks in which he exited early due to injury, Bellinger has played at least 35 percent of the team's snaps on offense in every contest. However, so long as top tight end Darren Waller is available, Bellinger is likely to operate mainly as a blocker when he takes the field.

  • Giants' Daniel Bellinger: Still limited by knee

Bellinger (knee) was a limited participant at practice Thursday, Jordan Raanan of ESPN.com reports. Per Art Stapleton of The Bergen Record, Bellinger began the day working off to the side with trainers but joined his fellow tight ends when the time came for position drills. That's a relatively encouraging sign, but he'll still likely need to practice in full Friday to avoid an injury designation going into the weekend.

  • Giants' Daniel Bellinger: Night comes to early end

Bellinger (knee) has been ruled out for the remainder of Monday's contest with the Seahawks, Dan Salomone of the Giants' official site reports. Bellinger suffered the knee injury on the Giants' first possession of the night and will finish the game with one catch for six yards. More information on his status may be provided after Monday's game.

  • Giants' Daniel Bellinger: Exits with knee injury

Bellinger suffered a knee injury and is questionable to return to Monday's contest with the Seahawks, Pat Leonard of the New York Daily News reports. Bellinger went down with a knee injury in the first quarter, and his status now is uncertain for the remainder of the game. Lawrence Cager is the only tight end available behind starter Darren Waller for the time being.

  • Giants' Daniel Bellinger: Gets questionable tag

Bellinger (neck) is listed as questionable ahead of Sunday's matchup with the Seahawks, Pat Leonard of the New York Daily News reports. It is unclear if Bellinger picked up the injury during the Giants' Week 3 loss to the 49ers or some other way, but he popped up on the injury report Thursday. Although he is behind Darren Waller on the depth chart, the second-year tight end has handled offensive snaps north of 60 percent through three weeks. Lawrence Cager would likely be in line to assume the No. 2 role if Bellinger is unable to go.
