Darien Butler: Medically cleared
Butler (knee) has received full medical clearance Thursday and will begin working out for teams around the league, Mike Garafolo of NFL Network reports.
Butler spent the entire 2023 season on IR with the Raiders due to what's been revealed to have been ACL and meniscus injuries. The UDFA out of Arizona State appeared in 15 games with Las Vegas as a rookie in 2022, mostly contributing on special teams. He'll now work to earn another depth opportunity, likely on a practice squad.

Darien Butler: Let go by Raiders
Butler (undisclosed) was waived with a failed physical designation Tuesday by the Raiders.
Butler spent the entire preseason on injured reserve with an undisclosed injury, but he was let go Las Vegas after a failed physical Tuesday. The linebacker will have to prove his health before getting another opportunity elsewhere in the league.

Raiders' Darien Butler: Reverts to IR
Butler (undisclosed) reverted to the Raiders' injured list Wednesday after clearing waivers, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.
Butler was waived by the Raiders on Monday after failing his physical. He spent all of 2023 on injured reserve with an unspecified injury, and he will do so again in 2024 unless he is let go with an injury settlement. Butler played in 15 regular-season games with the Raiders in 2022, recording 11 tackles (three solo) while playing 269 snaps on special teams.

The 23-year-old suffered a concussion during Week 17 of the 2022 NFL season but has since had the offseason to move past the issue. Butler appeared in 15 games last year and totaled 11 tackles for Las Vegas. Barring any setbacks, the Arizona State product is slated to backup Robert Spillane at weakside linebacker.

Butler was forced out with a concussion during the Week 17 loss to the 49ers. The 22-year-old did manage to log a limited practice Wednesday, though it appears he's yet to fully clear protocols after finishing Week 18 prep as a non-participant Thursday. Butler recorded 11 tackles as a core special-teamer across 15 games this season, and his absence will leave Las Vegas with three available linebackers Saturday versus Kansas City.
