Sean Culkin: Let go by Kansas City
The Chiefs are releasing Culkin on Monday, Field Yates of ESPN reports.
Culkin was a long shot to make Kansas City's active roster, and he'll now be free to search for depth competition elsewhere in the league. He appeared in one game for the Ravens last season, playing 16 offensive snaps without drawing a target.

Chiefs' Sean Culkin: Inks future deal
Culkin signed a reserve/future contract with the Chiefs on Friday, Dave Matter of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports.
The 27-year-old appeared in one game for the Ravens this season and spent most of the year on the practice squad, but he'll now join the Chiefs on a future deal. Culkin has two catches for 36 yards across 19 appearances since going undrafted in 2017.

Sean Culkin: Restored to practice squad
The Ravens restored Culkin (undisclosed) from the practice squad injured list Wednesday, per the league's official transactions report.
Culkin spent most of December on the injured list, but he'll now be eligible to resume participating in practice squad activities. The 27-year-old appeared in one game for the Ravens this season, Week 12 in Pittsburgh, during which he wasn't targeted.

The Ravens have just two tight ends on the active roster -- Mark Andrews and Nick Boyle. They placed TE Xavier Grimble (undisclosed) on the practice squad injury list Tuesday, so Culkin will fill Grimble's place for the time being.

It's unclear how Culkin suffered the injury, but it's serious enough to force him to miss game time. This was a great opptunity for Culkin, especially considering Hunter Henry (knee) and Virgil Green (groin) were both inactive for the game. Chargers' Sean Culkin: In line to start at tight end
Culkin is expected to serve as the Chargers' starting tight end Sunday against the Dolphins, Gilbert Manzano of The Orange County Register reports.
With Hunter Henry (knee) and Virgil Green (groin) both inactive for Week 4, Culkin and Lance Kendricks will be the lone healthy tight ends at the Chargers' disposal. Culkin worked ahead of Kendricks in pregame warmups, so he presumably stands to benefit from the larger share of snaps of the two. After Green's early departure in the Week 3 loss to the Texans, Culkin played a season-high 44 snaps but was targeted just once by Philip Rivers. Expect Culkin to mostly fill a blocking role whenever he's on the field Sunday.
