Fantasy News

  • Packers' Zach Bako-Bewele: Legally changes name

Bako-Bewele legally changed his name this offseason, Matt Schneidman of The Athletic reports. Formerly known as Zach Tom, the Packers' starting right tackle put pen to paper on the name change to honor two of his grandparents of Nigerian descent. The team's official site reflects the change on his player page, and it also was noted on the NFL's official transaction log from Aug. 2.

  • Packers' Zach Tom: Seemingly healthy to start camp

Tom (knee) was not among the players who landed on the PUP list to begin Packers training camp, Matt Schneidman of The Athletic reports. As expected, Tom appears to be entering training camp healthy after undergoing surgery to address a partially-torn patellar tendon during the offseason. He should resume his role as Green Bay's starting right tackle in 2026 as long as he's available.

  • Packers' Zach Tom: Likely back for training camp

Tom (knee) is making progress but likely won't return until training camp, Weston Hodkiewicz of the Packers' official site reports. Tom underwent surgery to repair a partially torn patellar tendon this offseason, but it appears he could return for training camp in late July. Once the Wake Forest product is back at full health, he's expected to remain one of the NFL's top right tackles.

  • Packers' Zach Tom: Expected to face six-month recovery

Tom (knee) is expected to have surgery on a partially torn patellar tendon and will face a six-month recovery after the procedure, Tom Silverstein of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports. Tom didn't suit up for Green Bay's loss to the Bears in the wild-card game. He started all 12 regular-season games for which he suited up at right tackle and is under contract through the 2029 season on a four-year, $88 million extension.

  • Packers' Zach Tom: Limited in practice Wednesday

Tom (back) was limited in practice Wednesday. Tom continued to show progression in his back injury on Wednesday, after being estimated as a limited participant in Tuesday's walkthrough. With back-to-back limited practices, the 26-year-old could be on track to play for the first time since Week 15 against the Broncos. The fourth-year pro's return could add a major boost to the offensive line as Green Bay prepares to play Chicago for the third time this season.

  • Packers' Zach Tom: Questionable for Week 18

Tom (back/knee) is listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the Vikings, Wes Hodkiewicz of the Packers' official site reports. Tom was limited in practice all week due to knee and back injuries and has a chance to return Sunday from a two-game absence. Given that the Packers are locked in as the seventh seed in the NFC, the team could opt to sit Tom and give the fourth-year pro another week of rest before the wild-card round of the playoffs. If that were to be the case, then Jordan Morgan would likely draw the start at right tackle.

  • Packers' Zach Tom: Logs limited session Wednesday

Tom (back/knee) was a limited participant in Wednesday's practice. The fourth-year pro from Wake Forest has missed the Packers' last two games due to a back injury, but Wednesday's limited session suggests he could be nearing a return. Tom likely needs to practice in full Thursday or Friday to avoid carrying an injury designation into Sunday's regular-season finale against the Vikings.

  • Packers' Zach Tom: Inactive again

Tom (back) is inactive for Saturday night's game against the Ravens, Mike Spofford of the Packers' official site reports. Tom will officially miss consecutive weeks due to a persistent back injury. The right tackle has still not practiced since sustaining the injury in the Week 15 loss to the Broncos. Darian Kinnard is expected to log another start at right tackle in Tom's absence.

  • Packers' Zach Tom: Questionable to play Saturday

Tom (back/knee) is questionable to play Saturday versus the Ravens, Wes Hodkiewicz of the Packers' official website reports. Tom was unable to practice at all during the week while nursing back and knee injuries, but the team has decided to leave the door open for him to play in Week 17. If he is unable to go against Baltimore, Darian Kinnard would likely draw another start at right tackle.

  • Packers' Zach Tom: Inactive for Saturday night

Tom (back/knee) is listed as inactive for Saturday night's game against the Bears, Mike Spofford of the Packers' official site reports. The starting right tackle will likely be Darian Kinnard (neck), who is listed as active for Saturday night's game.

  • Packers' Zach Tom: Managing two injuries

Tom (knee/back) was deemed a non-participant in Tuesday's practice walkthrough. The back issue has been lingering for most of the season, and Tom also hurt his knee against Denver on Sunday. Packers coach Matt LaFleur was noncommittal when asked about Tom's chances of suiting up Saturday versus Chicago, saying, "We'll see. I know he's going to fight and try to [play]. We'll give him the week," per Zach Kruse of Packers Wire. If Tom can't participate in that contest, Jordan Morgan or Darian Kinnard (neck) may be asked to start at right tackle.

Tom was a limited participant at practice all week due to a lingering back issue, but he'll continue to play through it in Week 15. He should start at right tackle Sunday against a Denver defense that arguably fields the most dangerous pass rush in the league.
