Murray recorded four tackles (one solo) before exiting during the second half, and it's unclear if he returned before the end of the game. The 27-year-old struggled last season with the Cowboys, recording 81 tackles (31 solo) over 17 regular-season games, and he was making his 2026 season debut for Houston in Week 4. The Texans will be back in action versus the Titans this coming Sunday, Oct. 11.

Cowboys' Kenneth Murray: Struggles in Dallas
Murray recorded 81 tackles (38 solo), including 1.0 sacks, with two passes defended and a fumble recovery over 17 regular-season games for the Cowboys in 2025.
The veteran linebacker was brought over from Tennessee in a March trade and was expected to be the centerpiece of defensive coordinator Matt Eberflus' system, which has historically led to big numbers for linebackers. Instead, the 27-year-old Murray seemed lost in the scheme and failed to make much of an impact, as he didn't collect double-digit tackles in any game. He'll be an unrestricted free agent this offseason, and with Dallas having moved on from Eberflus to bring Christian Parker over from Philadelphia as the new DC, Murray likely will have to find another employer.

Cowboys' Kenneth Murray: Remains consistent in loss
Murray recorded seven tackles (three solo) in Sunday's 44-24 loss to the Broncos.
Murray tied for the team lead in tackles, even in the blowout loss. He has been remarkably consistent this season, logging at least seven tackles in six of eight contests. Murray will remain a key part of Dallas' defense so long as he's healthy.

Murray recorded nine tackles (six solo), including 1.0 sacks, in Sunday's win over the Commanders.
The veteran linebacker tied with rookie Shemar James for the team lead in tackles, and Murray also added his first sack as a Cowboy. He has two 100-tackle seasons on his resume already, and in DC Matt Eberflus' LB-friendly scheme, Murray is on pace for another with 51 tackles through seven games.

Given Murray was on the field for 73 defensive snaps in Week 5, it's a bit surprising he posted his lowest tackle total of the year thus far. He's still on pace for a career high in that category on the season, making him a solid IDP option for a Week 6 tilt at Carolina.
