Bighill was waived by the Saints on Monday, Nick Underhill of The Baton Rouge Advocate reports.
Bighill spent the 2017 season bouncing between the Saints' practice squad and active roster, ultimately making one tackle in three games. The Central Washington product will become an unrestricted free agent if he passes through waivers unclaimed.

Bighill has been on and off with the Saints the entire season, spending time between the practice squad and active roster on a monthly basis. Look for him to play a reserve or special teams role with the team Sunday against the Redskins.

The Saints made a series of minor moves Tuesday, waiving Bighill in order to sign John Hughes and promote Daniel Lasco to the active roster. The linebacker was only active for two games while with the Saints.

Bighill, a former CFL standout, has been on the team's practice squad since failing to make it through final roster cuts prior to the season kicking off. He will presumably have a role on special teams and provide linebacker depth Sunday against the Lions.
