Horn put up 198 receiving yards in Colorado's Week 1 game but then only combined for 244 yards across the next eight games. Horn might not have the speed (4.48) or size (170 pounds) to win at the NFL level, but his quickness and technical skill give him a chance. Dave Canales and the Carolina Panthers gave UDFA Jalen Coker an extended look as a rookie, so Horn may be able to work his way into a role if he impresses in practice. Horn is not worth drafting outside of the deepest leagues.

Panthers' Jimmy Horn: Catches lone target
Rotowire
Horn caught his lone target for 13 yards in Thursday's 19-10 preseason loss to Pittsburgh.
The rookie sixth-round pick finishes his inaugural preseason with six catches for 29 yards on seven targets. Horn didn't make any noise toward a meaningful Week 1 role, but he at least seems on track for one of the final roster spots, with a chance to return kicks and/or punts.

Panthers' Jimmy Horn: Past hamstring issue
Rotowire
Horn (hamstring) participated in Wednesday's practice, Darin Gantt and Kassidy Hill of the Panthers' official site report.
Horn suffered a hamstring injury during OTAs in June, but he looks to be past the issue. He spent a good portion of Wednesday's practice fielding punts, and the rookie sixth-rounder would carve a spot for himself on the 53-man roster were he to win that job.

Panthers' Jimmy Horn Jr.: Carolina adds speedy wideout
Rotowire
The Panthers selected Horn in the sixth round of the 2025 NFL Draft, 208th overall.
Horn (5-foot-8, 174 pounds) was mostly a bit contributor at Colorado and will likely need to serve in the same role in the NFL, but he has deep speed to work with and is elusive with the ball. Horn was a productive starter for two years at South Florida before transferring to the Buffaloes for his final two years, and in Colorado it was a little harder for Horn to stand out in a wideout rotation where he was overshadowed by Travis Hunter and LaJohntay Wester. Indeed, Horn's production fell off upon him arriving to Colorado, with Horn specifically struggling to thrive in traffic. That's a problem, because even with his plus speed Horn probably can't threaten downfield regularly at just 5-foot-8. Receivers this short need to win on short routes from the slot to see more than decoy work, but slot targets come with the most collisions. Horn will most likely end up settling in as a long-time gadget player and returner in the NFL.
