  • Titans' Darrell Baker: Clears concussion protocol

Baker (concussion) does not carry an injury designation into Sunday's game against the Chargers. Baker was a full participant in each of the last two practices of the week, and his lack of an injury designation indicates that he has cleared the league's five-step concussion protocol ahead of Sunday's game. Baker should have a larger role in the Titans' secondary following Roger McCreary's trade to the Rams on Monday.

  • Titans' Darrell Baker: Logs full practice Thursday

Baker (concussion) was a full participant in Thursday's practice. Baker was able to practice without restriction Thursday, but he will need to be cleared by an independent neurologist in order to be removed from the league's concussion protocol ahead of Sunday's game against the Chargers. Baker could have a more prominent role in Tennessee's defense for the second half of the regular season after the Titans traded Roger McCreary to the Rams on Monday.

Baker (undisclosed) returned to practice Wednesday, Jim Wyatt of Titans.com reports. After leaving Tuesday's practice early, Baker was back to full participation Wednesday. • Titans' Darrell Baker: Out for minicamp

Baker (shoulder) was sidelined for Tennessee's minicamp session Tuesday, Paul Kuharsky of PaulKuharsky.com reports. Baker is still recovering from offseason shoulder surgery but is expected to be back in time for training camp. The 27-year-old racked up 40 tackles (32 solo) and five pass deflections in 17 games for the Titans last season and should serve as one of the team's top depth corners during the upcoming campaign.

  • Titans' Darrell Baker: Starts nine games in 2024

Baker tallied 40 tackles (32 solo) and five pass defenses over 17 regular-season games in 2024. The Titans claimed Baker off waivers in late August after he was let go by the Colts at the end of training camp. He was mostly used on special teams over the Titans' first five games of the regular season, but he was thrust in a starting role in Week 7 due to injuries to L'Jarius Sneed (quadriceps) and Chidobe Awuzie. Baker is an exclusive rights free agent, which means he wouldn't be able to negotiate a contract with another team if the Titans extend a qualifying offer to the third-year corner.

Baker had three total tackles in Sunday's win over Tampa Bay. Baker has moved back into the starting lineup due to the season-ending injury to Dallis Flowers (Achilles) and with JuJu Brents missing the last four games with a quad injury. After struggling to begin the season, Baker has improved in coverage the last three games by allowing eight of 13 passes targeted at him to go for a relatively modest 62 yards, according to Pro Football Focus.
