Hockenson (shin) doesn't have an injury designation for Sunday's game against the Cowboys.
Hockenson missed Wednesday's practice but returned to limited participation Thursday. He's apparently fine to play this week, after catching two of three targets for 12 yards and a TD in the 31-0 blowout of Washington last Sunday.

Vikings' T.J. Hockenson: Limited Thursday
Rotowire
Hockenson (shin) was a limited practice participant Thursday.
One day removed from not mixing into any drills due to a shin injury Wednesday, Hockenson was back on the field, signaling that he's trending in the right direction ahead of Sunday's contest at Dallas. Friday's practice report will unveil whether or not he enters the weekend with a designation for Week 15 action, but fellow TE Josh Oliver is on hand if Hockenson is inhibited or sidelined.

Vikings' T.J. Hockenson: TEs to Sit
Rotowire
Hockenson is playing well coming into Week 15 at Dallas with at least 9.2 PPR points in each of his past two games against Seattle and Washington, and he scored a touchdown in Week 14 against the Commanders with two catches for 12 yards on three targets. But in seven games with J.J. McCarthy, Hockenson has four targets or less in six of those outings, with 39 receiving yards his best performance. And Dallas has only allowed four touchdowns to tight ends all season. I would only start Hockenson in the deepest of leagues.

Vikings' T.J. Hockenson: No practice due to shin injury
Rotowire
Hockenson was a non-participant at Wednesday's practice due to a shin injury.
Hockenson logged his lowest snap share (56 percent) in a game this season this past Sunday against the Commanders, but he salvaged his two-catch, 12-yard day with a TD among his three targets. Perhaps the shin issue was to blame, but in any case, his status now will be monitored as the weekend approaches to get a sense of his odds to suit up Sunday in Dallas. Josh Oliver is the next TE up in Minnesota if Hockenson needs to miss any time.

Vikings' T.J. Hockenson: Gets into end zone Sunday
Rotowire
Hockenson caught two of three targets for 13 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 31-0 win over the Commanders.
While the veteran tight end didn't see much volume, Hockenson did haul in his first TD since Week 9 and third of the season on a two-yard toss from J.J. McCarthy in the fourth quarter. All three of McCarthy's career-high three touchdowns went to TEs, an encouraging sign for Hockenson in what has been a tough season overall. He'll look to reach 60 receiving yards for the first time in 2025 in a Week 15 clash with the Cowboys.

Vikings' T.J. Hockenson: TEs to Sit
Rotowire
Hockenson had a solid game in Week 13 at Seattle with six catches for 59 yards on six targets, but that was his first game with double digits in PPR since Week 7 and only the third time he's reached that mark this season. Hockenson had Max Brosmer at quarterback against the Seahawks, but Hockenson has struggled with J.J. McCarthy, who is back in Week 14. Hockenson has played six games with McCarthy and has four targets or less in five of those outings, with 39 receiving yards his best performance. There's little reason to trust Hockenson as a starter in the majority of leagues against Washington.

Vikings' T.J. Hockenson: Leading receiver in shutout loss
Rotowire
Hockenson corralled all six of his targets for 59 yards in Sunday's 26-0 loss to the Seahawks.
Hockenson was the lone bright spot for Minnesota's passing offense after converting all of his targets into a team-high 59 yards. The 27-year-old tied his previous season best with six receptions, while the yardage did represent a new high-water mark in an otherwise disappointing campaign. With a 44-358-2 receiving line through 12 starts, Hockenson is providing the bare minimum at a shallow fantasy position for managers this season. That said, he offers little upside against the Commanders next Sunday.

Vikings' T.J. Hockenson: Four receptions in loss
Rotowire
Hockenson had four receptions for 19 yards on four targets in Sunday's loss at Green Bay.
J.J. McCarthy's abysmal play at quarterback (87 yards passing, two interceptions) has made almost every Vikings receiver a non-factor for fantasy purposes. Hockensen at least is getting some dump-off passes (seven receptions in the last two games), but they are not resulting in much yardage. Hockenson's outlook isn't any better next week in a tough matchup at Seattle.

Vikings' T.J. Hockenson: TEs to Sit
Rotowire
Hockenson has played five games with J.J. McCarthy and has four targets or less in four of those outings, with 39 receiving yards his best performance. There's little reason to trust Hockenson in most leagues heading into Week 12 at Green Bay. The Packers also haven't allowed a tight end to score a touchdown in their past three games against Pittsburgh, Philadelphia and the Giants, and only five tight ends have scored double digits in PPR against Green Bay this year.

Vikings' T.J. Hockenson: Three receptions in loss
Rotowire
Hockenson had three receptions for 39 yards on six targets in Sunday's loss to Chicago.
There were some encouraging signs for Hockenson as the Vikings offense used him more in short routes over the middle that were lacking in quarterback J.J. McCarthy's previous starts. However, McCarthy and the passing game struggled overall, which limits Hockenson's upside. McCarthy was just 16-for-32 passing as he struggled with accuracy and had two interceptions.

Vikings' T.J. Hockenson: Sit Tight Ends
Rotowire
Hockenson has played four games with J.J. McCarthy this season, and Hockenson has four targets or less in each outing. He's been held to 15 yards or less in each of those games, with one touchdown. There's little reason to trust Hockenson in the majority of leagues heading into Week 11 against Chicago if McCarthy is not going to give him more chances to succeed. And in Week 1 against the Bears, Hockenson only had three catches for 15 yards on four targets.

Vikings' T.J. Hockenson: Just two receptions in loss
Rotowire
Hockenson had two receptions for eight yards on two targets in Sunday's loss to Baltimore.
Hockenson hasn't had much action with J.J. McCarthy at quarterback as he's had just 12 targets in his four games behind center. He's not blocking more with Josh Oliver sidelined (foot) as he went out on a route on 44 of his 58 snaps on offense, so there's some hope for an increase in receptions.

Vikings' T.J. Hockenson: Sit Tight Ends
Rotowire
Hockenson scored a touchdown in Week 9 at Detroit, but he only had two catches for 11 yards on three targets. He's had exactly three targets in each of his past two games against the Chargers and Lions, and he is averaging just 5.3 PPR points per game in three starts with J.J. McCarthy. Baltimore has only allowed two touchdowns to tight ends this season, and Hockenson is only worth starting in deeper leagues in Week 10.

Vikings' T.J. Hockenson: Just two receptions in loss
Rotowire
Hockenson had two receptions for 26 yards on three targets in Thursday's loss to the Chargers.
Minnesota's offense struggled against the Chargers as Carson Wentz was sacked five times amid an injury-depleted offensive line. There were few opportunities for Hockenson as a result. He did go out on a route on 30 of his 40 snaps on offense, so he was involved in the passing game when the team fell far behind.

Vikings' T.J. Hockenson: Sit Tight Ends
Rotowire
Hockenson has one game this season with double digits in PPR points, which was Week 3 against the Bengals, who allow the most Fantasy points to opposing tight ends. He only has one touchdown this year, and he has yet to reach 50 receiving yards in any game. The Eagles are No. 3 in fewest Fantasy points allowed to opposing tight ends, and Philadelphia has allowed just one touchdown to the position. Hockenson is not worth starting in the majority of leagues in this matchup.

Vikings' T.J. Hockenson: Six grabs in London victory
Rotowire
Hockenson brought in all six targets for 38 yards in the Vikings' 21-17 win over the Browns in London on Sunday.
The veteran tight end continued to play a short-area role and finished as the runner-up in receptions for the Vikings while also tying for second in targets. Hockenson provided some key contributions on the Vikings' game-winning drive late in the fourth quarter, making two catches for 20 yards during the possession. He has between four and six receptions in his last three games, but he's yet to top 49 receiving yards in any contest this season heading into the Week 6 bye.

Vikings' T.J. Hockenson: Pads stats late in loss
Rotowire
Hockenson recorded four receptions on five targets for 39 yards in Sunday's 24-21 loss to the Steelers.
Hockenson wasn't targeted until just before halftime and didn't make his first catch until the Vikings' first drive of the fourth quarter. However, he saw plenty of opportunity in short areas of the field in the final 10 minutes of the game as Minnesota attempted to rally from a two-score deficit. Though Hockenson ended up with a respectable line on five targets, Jordan Addison's return predictably appears to have cut into his target volume.

Vikings' T.J. Hockenson: Sleeper TEs
Rotowire
I expected Hockenson to benefit with Carson Wentz under center, and that's what happened in Wentz's first start in Week 3 against Cincinnati. Hockenson had five catches for 49 yards and a touchdown on six targets, and he scored a season-high 15.9 PPR points. Jordan Addison's suspension is over, so we'll see how that impacts Hockenson. But I still like him as a low-end starter as long as Wentz is under center. It also helps that the Steelers are No. 2 in most Fantasy points allowed to opposing tight ends.

Vikings' T.J. Hockenson: Sleeper TEs
Rotowire
I'm going to give Hockenson another chance as a low-end starter in Week 3 with Carson Wentz starting for the injured J.J. McCarthy (ankle). It also helps that Hockenson is facing the Bengals. Cincinnati has already allowed Harold Fannin Jr. to score 13.6 PPR points in Week 1, and Hockenson should have his best game to date. So far, he's been limited to four catches for 27 yards on seven targets in two games, but Wentz loves his tight ends, which bodes well for Hockenson this week.
