  • Vikings' T.J. Hockenson: Sit Tight Ends

Hockenson scored a touchdown in Week 9 at Detroit, but he only had two catches for 11 yards on three targets. He's had exactly three targets in each of his past two games against the Chargers and Lions, and he is averaging just 5.3 PPR points per game in three starts with J.J. McCarthy. Baltimore has only allowed two touchdowns to tight ends this season, and Hockenson is only worth starting in deeper leagues in Week 10.

  • Vikings' T.J. Hockenson: Scores TD in Week 9 win

Hockenson had two receptions for 11 yards, including a seven-yard touchdown, on three targets in Sunday's win at Detroit. Hockenson played on 48 of the offense's 62 snaps and went out for a pass on 28 of them, which was about his usual pattern. However, quarterback J.J. McCarthy attempted just 25 passes, which didn't leave a lot of targets for the receiving corps after Justin Jefferson (nine targets). It's promising that McCarthy looked for Hockenson in the red zone.

  • Vikings' T.J. Hockenson: Just two receptions in loss

Hockenson had two receptions for 26 yards on three targets in Thursday's loss to the Chargers. Minnesota's offense struggled against the Chargers as Carson Wentz was sacked five times amid an injury-depleted offensive line. There were few opportunities for Hockenson as a result. He did go out on a route on 30 of his 40 snaps on offense, so he was involved in the passing game when the team fell far behind.

  • Vikings' T.J. Hockenson: Sees TD catch erased in loss

Hockenson brought in six of nine targets for 43 yards in the Vikings' 28-22 loss to the Eagles on Sunday. The veteran tight end finished second on the Vikings in receptions and third in both receiving yards and targets. Hockenson's final line would have looked a lot better had a diving attempt at a touchdown catch that he made with just over three minutes remaining would have survived instant replay review. He did match his season high in catches and set a new high-water mark in targets, so he's trending up heading into an intriguing Week 8 road matchup against the Chargers on Thursday night.

  • Vikings' T.J. Hockenson: Sit Tight Ends

Hockenson has one game this season with double digits in PPR points, which was Week 3 against the Bengals, who allow the most Fantasy points to opposing tight ends. He only has one touchdown this year, and he has yet to reach 50 receiving yards in any game. The Eagles are No. 3 in fewest Fantasy points allowed to opposing tight ends, and Philadelphia has allowed just one touchdown to the position. Hockenson is not worth starting in the majority of leagues in this matchup.

  • Vikings' T.J. Hockenson: Six grabs in London victory

Hockenson brought in all six targets for 38 yards in the Vikings' 21-17 win over the Browns in London on Sunday. The veteran tight end continued to play a short-area role and finished as the runner-up in receptions for the Vikings while also tying for second in targets. Hockenson provided some key contributions on the Vikings' game-winning drive late in the fourth quarter, making two catches for 20 yards during the possession. He has between four and six receptions in his last three games, but he's yet to top 49 receiving yards in any contest this season heading into the Week 6 bye.

  • Vikings' T.J. Hockenson: Sit Tight Ends

Hockenson struggled in Week 4 at Pittsburgh with four catches for 39 yards on five targets. It was the first game with Jordan Addison this season following his three-game suspension, and Hockenson now has to compete for targets with two standout receivers in Justin Jefferson and Addison. This week, Hockenson has a tough matchup against the Browns in London, and Cleveland is No. 8 in fewest Fantasy points allowed to opposing tight ends. Mark Andrews, Tucker Kraft and Sam LaPorta have combined for 14.2 PPR points against the Browns, who should be able to keep LaPorta in check this week.

  • Vikings' T.J. Hockenson: Pads stats late in loss

Hockenson recorded four receptions on five targets for 39 yards in Sunday's 24-21 loss to the Steelers. Hockenson wasn't targeted until just before halftime and didn't make his first catch until the Vikings' first drive of the fourth quarter. However, he saw plenty of opportunity in short areas of the field in the final 10 minutes of the game as Minnesota attempted to rally from a two-score deficit. Though Hockenson ended up with a respectable line on five targets, Jordan Addison's return predictably appears to have cut into his target volume.

  • Vikings' T.J. Hockenson: Sleeper TEs

I expected Hockenson to benefit with Carson Wentz under center, and that's what happened in Wentz's first start in Week 3 against Cincinnati. Hockenson had five catches for 49 yards and a touchdown on six targets, and he scored a season-high 15.9 PPR points. Jordan Addison's suspension is over, so we'll see how that impacts Hockenson. But I still like him as a low-end starter as long as Wentz is under center. It also helps that the Steelers are No. 2 in most Fantasy points allowed to opposing tight ends.

  • Vikings' T.J. Hockenson: Scores TD in Week 3 win

Hockenson brought in five of six targets for 49 yards and a touchdown in the Vikings' 48-10 win over the Bengals on Sunday. The veteran tight end had put together a quiet first two games of the season, mustering just a 4-27-0 line on seven targets. However, Hockenson tied for the team lead in receptions Sunday while checking in second in both receiving yards and targets as he worked with Carson Wentz for the first time. Hockenson also got into the end zone for the first time in 2025 on a five-yard grab late in the third quarter, and he's slated to operate with Wentz as his quarterback again in next Sunday's Week 4 matchup against the Steelers in Dublin, Ireland, since J.J. McCarthy (ankle) is expected to remain sidelined for that contest.

  • Vikings' T.J. Hockenson: Sleeper TEs

I'm going to give Hockenson another chance as a low-end starter in Week 3 with Carson Wentz starting for the injured J.J. McCarthy (ankle). It also helps that Hockenson is facing the Bengals. Cincinnati has already allowed Harold Fannin Jr. to score 13.6 PPR points in Week 1, and Hockenson should have his best game to date. So far, he's been limited to four catches for 27 yards on seven targets in two games, but Wentz loves his tight ends, which bodes well for Hockenson this week.

  • Vikings' T.J. Hockenson: Three catches in Week 1 win

Hockenson secured three of four targets for 15 yards in the Vikings' 27-24 win over the Bears on Monday night. The Vikings' passing attack was mostly quiet the majority of the night as J.J. McCarthy made his NFL regular-season debut, helping lead to a modest showing for the veteran tight end. Hockenson entered the season with elevated expectations considering he's now nearly two years removed from suffering multiple knee ligament tears Week 16 of the 2023 season, but his production will naturally be largely dependent on how quickly McCarthy gets his feet under him. Hockenson will next take aim at the Falcons defense in a Week 2 home matchup on Sunday night.

  • Vikings' T.J. Hockenson: Plays in preseason opener

Hockenson started at tight end and played eight snaps on offense, but he wasn't targeted in the passing game in Saturday's preseason win over Houston, the Minneapolis Star Tribune reports. Hockenson missed time in practice earlier this week with a hip flexor. It was surprising to see Hockenson play in the first preseason game given his injury scare earlier in the week. Even though he didn't do much in the game, it shows he's ready for the regular season.

  • Vikings' T.J. Hockenson: Back at practice

Hockenson (leg/hip/back) will practice Wednesday, Alec Lewis of The Athletic reports. Hockenson exited Saturday's practice with a noticeable limp, and then didn't practice Monday due to a combination of leg, hip and back injuries. He may operate only in a limited capacity Wednesday, but he'll have another session Thursday before the team will need to make a decision regarding whether he takes the field along with second-year QB J.J. McCarthy for Saturday's preseason game against the Texans.

  • Vikings' T.J. Hockenson: Dealing with apparent groin injury

Hockenson suffered an apparent groin injury during practice Saturday and was walking with a noticeable limp afterward, Andrew Krammer of the Minnesota Star Tribune reports. Hockenson was evaluated and tried to work through the injury on the field, but he was unable to do so. He told reporters after practice that he would be alright, but he may be in line to miss additional practice time.

  • Vikings' T.J. Hockenson: Sleepers (Start/Sit)

Hockenson has yet to score a touchdown this season, but now would be a good time against his former team. He missed the first game against the Lions in Week 7 when he was still recovering from last year's knee injury, but he will hopefully do well in Week 18. Hockenson has scored at least 10.2 PPR points in two of his past three games, and Detroit has allowed four tight ends to score at least 8.9 PPR points in the past four games, including two touchdowns.

  • Vikings' T.J. Hockenson: Racks up 68 yards

Hockenson recorded five receptions on six targets for 68 yards in Sunday's 27-25 win over the Packers. Hockenson recorded his highest yardage total since Week 12, highlighted by a 28-yard grab up the seam to help set up a field goal just before halftime. While his yardage totals haven't been particularly impressive, Hockenson's role has been consistent as he has at least five targets in six straight contests.

  • Vikings' T.J. Hockenson: Finishes with 27 yards Sunday

Hockenson had two receptions on five targets for 27 yards in Sunday's 27-24 win over the Seahawks. Hockenson struggled to put up big numbers Sunday, finishing with his second-lowest receiving total of the season against Seattle. The 26-year-old has been held scoreless in eight starts this season, resulting in middling statistics for a shallow fantasy position. Hockenson and his managers will hope for better results against Green Bay next Sunday.
