  • Dolphins' Tyrel Dodson: Cleared to play vs. Cleveland

Dodson has cleared the league's concussion protocol and is available to play against the Browns on Sunday, David Furones of the South Florida Sun Sentinel reports. Dodson was unable to play against the Chargers in Week 6 due to a concussion, but he has been cleared by an independent neurologist to play in Sunday's road tilt. Prior to his injury, he accumulated 46 tackles (29 solo), including 2.0 sacks, one pass defense and one forced fumble across five regular-season games. Dodson's return means K.J. Britt -- who logged 13 total tackles in Week 6 -- will likely see his snap count on defense decrease.

  • Dolphins' Tyrel Dodson: Will play if he clears protocol

Dodson (concussion) is listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the Browns, Zac Jackson of The Athletic reports. Dodson has yet to clear the NFL's five-step concussion protocol by gaining clearance from an independent neurologist, but head coach Mike McDaniel said Friday that the Dolphins are "hopeful and confident" that Dodson will do so after logging three full practices, per Marcel Louis-Jacques of ESPN.com. If Dodson exits concussion protocol, the starting middle linebacker will suit up Sunday.

  • Dolphins' Tyrel Dodson: Logs full practice Wednesday

Dodson (concussion) was a full participant in Wednesday's practice, David Furones of the South Florida Sun Sentinel reports. Dodson entered the league's concussion protocol following the Dolphins' Week 5 loss to the Panthers. He was not cleared to play against the Chargers in Week 6, but his ability to practice in full Wednesday indicates that he is progressing in his recovery. Dodson will have to be cleared by an independent neurologist in order to play against the Browns on Sunday.

  • Dolphins' Tyrel Dodson: Won't play Week 6

Dodson (concussion) has been ruled out for Sunday's game against the Chargers, Travis Wingfield of the Dolphins' official site reports. Dodson remains in concussion protocol after being concussed in this past Sunday's loss to the Panthers. His next chance to take the field will come Oct. 19 in Cleveland, though Dodson would first have to clear the NFL's five-step concussion protocol and return to practice. K.J. Britt will likely see additional action in Dodson's absence.

Dodson has been ruled out for the rest of Sunday's game against the Panthers due to a head injury. Dodson appeared to suffer the injury in the third quarter and, after being evaluated by medical staff on the sidelines, he will not return. K.J. Britt will take over at middle linebacker for the rest of Sunday's game in Dodson's absence.

  • Dolphins' Tyrel Dodson: Unstoppable force in Week 3

Dodson recorded 11 solo tackles, including 1.0 sacks, while also adding a pass defensed in Thursday's 31-21 loss to the Bills. Dodson reached double-digit solo tackles for the first time in his six-year NFL career, one of which was a sack of quarterback Josh Allen in the third quarter. • Dolphins' Tyrel Dodson: Makes 13 stops

Dodson recorded 13 tackles (six solo), including one tackle for loss, in Sunday's 33-8 loss to the Colts. Dodson was a mainstay in the middle of the Miami defense, playing 100 percent of defensive snaps alongside Jordyn Brooks. Dodson logged his third double-digit tackle effort in nine games with the Dolphins, and he should continue to rack up stops as a key member of the defensive unit.

  • Dolphins' Tyrel Dodson: Returns to Miami

The Dolphins re-signed Dodson to a two-year, $8.25 million contract Wednesday, Jordan Schultz of Fox Sports reports. Dodson opened the 2024 season as an every-down linebacker for the Seahawks, but he was a surprise cut after nine games and was claimed off waivers by Miami. He mainly played special teams in his first six games with the Dolphins before playing 100 percent of the defensive snaps in Weeks 17 and 18. Look for Dodson to build on that and open 2025 as a three-down linebacker.

  • Dolphins' Tyrel Dodson: Career-high 15 tackles vs. Browns

Dodson finished Sunday's 20-3 win over Cleveland with 15 tackles (eight solo) and one interception. Dodson was limited to special-teams work for the Dolphins' prior three games, but he started at inside linebacker Sunday due to Anthony Walker being ruled out with a knee injury. Dodson made the most of his opportunity by leading Miami in tackles en route to his best output in his five-year NFL career. He also logged his third interception of the season when he picked off Dorian Thompson-Robinson on a pass intended for Jerry Jeudy midway through the second quarter. Dodson could start in the Dolphins' regular-season finale against the Jets on Sunday if Walker isn't cleared to return from his knee injury.

The Dolphins claimed Dodson off waivers Tuesday, Marcel Louis-Jacques of ESPN.com reports. Dodson was surprisingly let go by the Seahawks on Monday, and it didn't take long for the 26-year-old linebacker to find a new home. He led Seattle with 71 tackles across nine regular-season games, and he'll bolster Miami's depth at inside linebacker alongside David Long, Anthony Walker and Jordyn Brooks.

Dodson made nine tackles (seven solo) in Sunday's 26-20 overtime loss to the Rams. Dodson tied with Ernest Jones for the team lead in tackles. The duo has played every defensive snap through two weeks together, and both players should be useful fantasy options after the Seahawks' Week 10 bye.

Dodson recorded seven tackles (five solo) in Sunday's 31-10 loss to the Bills. • Seahawks' Tyrel Dodson: Registers sack in Week 3

Dodson finished Sunday's 17-3 win over Miami with five tackles (three solo), including 1.0 sacks. Dodson got to quarterback Skylar Thompson for a seven-yard sack on the Dolphins' first offensive drive of the second half, which caused the Dolphins to punt one play later. Dodson didn't play 100 percent of the Seahawks' defensive snaps in Week 3 as he did over the first two games of the regular season, but the 26-year-old is expected to see heavy usage as Seattle's starting inside linebacker, especially for as long as fellow starter Jerome Baker (hamstring) is sidelined. Dodson has registered 23 tackles (16 solo), including 1.0 sacks, one pass defended and one forced fumble through the first three games of the regular season.

Dodson (shoulder) is listed as questionable ahead of Sunday's matchup with the Patriots, Bob Condotta of The Seattle Times reports. Dodson was able to bounce back from Wednesday's DNP with a full practice session Friday, and he's now got a shot at suiting up Sunday. If the 26-year-old linebacker is forced to miss the Seahawks' Week 2 contest, expect Drake Thomas to see increased work with Seattle's first-team defense.

  • Seahawks' Tyrel Dodson: Limited participant Thursday

Dodson (shoulder) was a limited participant in Thursday's practice, John Boyle of the Seahawks' official site reports. Dodson opened the week as a DNP in Wednesday's practice, but he was able to return to the field in a restricted capacity Thursday. If he's able to log another practice Friday, that should bode well for his chances of playing against the Patriots on Sunday.
