The Jaguars traded Fortner to the Saints in exchange for defensive lineman Khalen Saunders on Sunday, Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reports.
Fortner will head to New Orleans, where he'll likely operate as the top reserve option at center behind starter Erik McCoy in 2025. Fortner is entering his fourth season in the NFL and has made 34 starts so far in his career.

Coach Doug Pederson said Friday that Fortner (ankle) will suit up Sunday versus the Chiefs, Michael DiRocco of ESPN.com reports.
Fortner and RG Brandon Scherff (ankle) will both face Kansas City, per Pederson. Both starting offensive linemen picked up ankle injuries Week 1, but neither will have to miss any time.
