Fantasy News

  • Casey Toohill: Healthy again

Toohill signed to the Bills' practice squad Thursday. The defensive end was waived Tuesday after missing Sunday's win over the Lions with a rib injury. Toohill suffered the injury during the previous week's loss to the Rams. The 2020 seventh-round pick of the Eagles has 14 tackles (nine solo), including 1.0 sacks, a pass breakup and a fumble recovery for the Bills this season.

  • Casey Toohill: Let go by Buffalo

The Bills waived Toohill (ribs) on Tuesday. Toohill did not play in Sunday's 48-42 win over the Lions due to a rib injury. Assuming he clears waivers, Toohill will look to catch on with a team in need of defensive line depth once he has fully recovered from his injury. Across 13 regular-season games with the Bills, Toohill logged 14 tackles (nine solo), including 1.0 sacks, one pass defense and one fumble recovery.

  • Bills' Casey Toohill: Unlikely to return Sunday

Toohill (ribs) is doubtful to return to Sunday's game against the Rams. Toohill suffered the injury late in the third quarter, and he did not record a tackle before exiting the game. Von Miller and Javon Solomon should see an uptick in snaps at defensive end in the fourth quarter if Toohill doesn't return.

  • Bills' Casey Toohill: Past knee issue

Toohill (knee) was a full participant in Wednesday's practice. Toohill recorded one tackle across 21 total snaps (11 defensive and 10 on special teams) before sustaining a knee injury in the Bills' Week 9 win over the Dolphins. Wednesday's full practice suggests that he's already moved past the issue, and he's expected to keep contributing on both defense and special teams when the Bills travel to Indianapolis in Week 10.

  • Bills' Casey Toohill: Heads to Buffalo

Toohill (shoulder) signed a one-year contract with the Bills on Tuesday, Patrick Warren of the team's official site reports. Toohill appeared in 16 games last season, missing the Commanders' final contest due to a shoulder injury. The Stanford product notched a career-high 5.0 sacks in 2023 and should bolster Buffalo's depth off the edge now that he's healthy.

  • Football Team's Casey Toohill: Goes on COVID-19 list

Toohill was placed on the reserve/COVID-19 list and won't be available Sunday for Washington's game against the Cowboys. Washington hasn't revealed whether Toohill tested positive for the virus or was deemed a close contact of an infected person, but in any case, he'll be the fifth member of the Football Team this week to be ruled out after being placed on the reserve/COVID-19 list. Toohill's absence will further deplete Washington's depth at defensive end, as the Football Team will be without its top four options at the position. In addition to Toohill, James Smith-Williams and Montez Sweat (jaw, positive test) are on the reserve/COVID-19 list, while Chase Young (knee) is on season-ending injured reserve.

  • Football Team's Casey Toohill: Ready for opener

Toohill (toe) wasn't listed on Wednesday's injury report. Toohill won't have much of a role on defense as long as Chase Young and Montez Sweat are healthy. As a rookie in 2020, Toohill posted two tackles across nine games between Philadelphia -- who drafted him in the seventh round -- and Washington.

  • Football Team's Casey Toohill: Finds new home

Toohill was claimed off waivers by Washington on Wednesday, Mike Garafolo of NFL Network reports. After he was drafted in the seventh round during April's draft by the Eagles, the team decided to part ways with the Stanford product Tuesday. Now that he's joining an NFC East rival, Toohill will add depth at defensive end, as he appeared in just one contest with the Eagles this campaign.

  • Eagles' Casey Toohill: Edge rusher lands in Philadelphia

The Eagles selected Toohill in the seventh round of the 2020 NFL Draft, 233rd overall. The Eagles continue to prioritize speed above all else in the latter stages of the 2020 NFL Draft, this time selecting the Stanford edge rusher, who posted a 4.62 40-yard dash at the combine. A smart and toolsy player, Toohill struggled mightily at stopping the run in college, but adding more weight -- depending on his positional classification at the professional level -- could help him stick on an NFL roster.
