Jackson was signed to the Vikings' practice squad Wednesday, Craig Peters of the team's official website reports.
Jackson went unclaimed on waivers after Minnesota cut him loose Tuesday, and he will now open the year as a member of the team's practice squad. The wide receiver spent the entirety of the 2024 campaign with the Vikings' practice squad, and he'll look to earn an elevation to the active roster at some point this season, something he didn't accomplish last year.

Lucky Jackson: Sent to waivers
Rotowire
The Vikings waived Jackson on Tuesday.
Jackson was targeted 11 times through three preseason games but turned in just five receptions for 49 yards. Despite dealing with multiple injuries at wide receiver, the Vikings cut Jackson loose in favor of Tim Jones and undrafted rookie Myles Price. Jackson is a candidate for the practice squad where he spent the 2024 season.

Vikings' Lucky Jackson: Tough day against Pats
Rotowire
Jackson caught one of five targets for nine yards in Saturday's 20-12 preseason loss to New England.
With Justin Jefferson (hamstring), Jordan Addison (suspension) and Jalen Nailor (hand) all held out of the contest, Jackson got the start but did very little with the opportunity. The second-year wideout out of Western Kentucky is battling with 2025 third-round pick Tai Felton for the No. 4 spot on the depth chart -- a role that could end up being significant early in the season with Addison set to miss the first three games -- but Saturday's performance likely caused Jackson to lose ground in the competition.

Vikings' Lucky Jackson: Making case for significant role
Rotowire
Jackson caught three of four targets for 30 yards in Saturday's 20-10 preseason win over the Texans.
With Jordan Addison (suspension) set to miss the first three games of the regular season, Jalen Nailor will line up as the Vikings' No. 2 receiver opposite Justin Jefferson (hamstring), creating a camp competition for the No. 3 job between Jackson and 2025 third-round pick Tai Felton. Felton has the draft pedigree in his favor, but Jackson may be emerging as the frontrunner nonetheless, and his performance Saturday was a notch better than Felton's 2-14-0 line on two targets. Jackson's only NFL experience to date consists of three games for Minnesota in 2023, when he mainly played special teams.

Vikings' Lucky Jackson: Will remain in Minnesota
Rotowire
The Vikings signed Jackson to a reserve/future contract Wednesday, Craig Peters of the team's official site reports.
Jackson spent the entire 2024 campaign on the Vikings' practice squad after failing to make the 53-man roster at the end of training camp. He wasn't elevated to the active roster, but he will stay in Minnesota and be on the 90-man roster March 12 when the new league year starts. Jackson will participate in OTAs, minicamp and training camp with the Vikings in the hopes of making the 53-man roster for the 2025 season.

Vikings' Lucky Jackson: Joins active roster
Rotowire
The Vikings signed Jackson to the 53-man roster Saturday.
The 26-year-old's signing will ensure some extra depth at wide receiver for the remainder of the season, as Jalen Nailor (concussion) was placed on injured reserve Saturday. Jackson has already appeared in two games for Minnesota this year, failing to record a stat and playing 22 total snaps (two offensive and 20 on special teams).

Vikings' Lucky Jackson: Elevated for second straight week
Rotowire
The Vikings elevated Jackson to their active roster from their practice squad Saturday.
Jackson's elevation is a consequence of Jordan Addison (ankle) being listed as questionable for Sunday's contest against Green Bay and Jalen Nailor (concussion) being ruled out. Jackson saw his first regular-season action as a pro last week versus Detroit, logging one offensive snap and 12 special-teams snaps in the loss. He figures to have a minimal role again Sunday if he suits up.

Lucky Jackson: Back with Vikings' practice squad
Rotowire
Minnesota signed Jackson to its practice squad Tuesday.
Just a few days after being cut from the Vikings' practice squad, Jackson has found his way back into the fold. With only five receivers currently available to suit up for Thursday's game at Philadelphia, it wouldn't be surprising to see Minnesota elevate a wideout in the near future.
