The Falcons placed Hart (concussion) on injured reserve Tuesday, Terrin Waack of the team's official site reports.
Hart sustained a concussion during the Falcons' 13-13 preseason tie versus Cincinnati, and he was moved to injured reserve prior to making Atlanta's final 53-man roster Tuesday. Therefore, barring any injury settlement with the team, he will now be forced to remain on this list for the entire 2023 campaign. The 5-foot-8 wideout totaled 11 receptions for 82 yards over the first three seasons of his career in Seattle, so he was likely a longshot to survive the team's final roster cuts from the get-go.

Falcons' Penny Hart: Dealing with concussion
Falcons coach Arthur Smith said Sunday that Hart will not practice this coming week after he sustained a concussion during Friday's 13-13 preseason tie versus Cincinnati, Terrin Waack of the team's official site reports.
Hart was examined for a head injury after he came down hard on his head during Friday's contest, so these results must have come back positive for a concussion. As a result, the 5-foot-8 wideout will almost certainly be sidelined for the Falcons' preseason finale Thursday against the Steelers. Hart signed a contract with Atlanta after catching just three passes during his third season with the Seahawks in 2022. Therefore, any missed time this preseason for Hart could significantly impact his chances to make the final 53-man roster ahead of J.J. Arcega-Whiteside, Keilahn Harris, Slade Bolden, Mathew Sexton and Xavier Malone.

Falcons' Penny Hart: Getting concussion check
Coach Arthur Smith said after Friday's 13-13 preseason tie with the Bengals that Hart was examined for a head injury during the game, Terrin Waack of the Falcons' official site reports.
On Hart's only target of the night, he fell hard on his helmet while attempting to haul in a pass from Taylor Heinicke on fourth-and-2 early in the fourth quarter. Hart was wobbly on his feet as he made his way to the sideline before going to the locker room. Smith was unsure if Hart has been diagnosed with a concussion, but his status now will be one to monitor ahead of Atlanta's preseason finale on Thursday, Aug. 24 against the Steelers.

Hart signed a contract with the Falcons on Thursday, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
Hart spent the first three seasons of his career in Seattle, but he'll now find a new opportunity in Atlanta, who have already added Scotty Miller and Mack Hollins to their receiver corps this offseason. Hart suited up just nine times in 2022, missing some action due to a hamstring injury, but he also found himself inactive as a coach's decision multiple times. He'll now work to earn and maintain a regular role with the Falcons in 2023.
