  • Trevis Gipson: Tries out with Browns

Gipson (ankle) tried out with the Browns on Wednesday, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports. Gipson is healthy again after having suffered an ankle injury last December that ended up landing him on Seattle's injured reserve. He appeared in just five regular-season games during the 2024 campaign but failed to record any stats on defense and will now look to catch on with another team.

  • Seahawks' Trevis Gipson: Placed on IR

The Seahawks placed Gipson (ankle) on injured reserve Saturday. Gipson had already been ruled out for Sunday's game against the Vikings, and now he'll miss the remainder of the regular season and at least the first week of the playoffs, should Seattle make it to the postseason. Gipson had been inactive for the last nine games after appearing in Seattle's first five contests. He finishes the regular season with zero tackles or defensive stats on 47 defensive snaps and another 28 on special teams.

  • Seahawks' Trevis Gipson: Won't return in Week 16

Gipson (ankle) has been ruled out ahead of Sunday's matchup against the Vikings, Bob Condotta of The Seattle Times reports. Gipson has not been active since the Seahawks' Week 5 win over the Giants, and he'll remain sidelined for the Week 16 matchup against the Vikings due to an ankle injury. With Gipson ruled out ahead of Sunday's contest, Seattle's outside linebacker corps will consist of Boye Mafe, Dre'Mont Jones, Derick Hall and Uchenna Nwosu.

  • Seahawks' Trevis Gipson: Dealt to Seattle

The Jaguars traded Gipson on Monday in exchange for draft pick compensation. Gipson had just arrived in Jacksonville after the 2023 season, but he's now already headed to join forces with the Seahawks. With fellow edge rusher Uchenna Nwosu (knee) now expected to miss at least the early portion of the regular season, there's a chance Gipson could play a rotational role during the first couple games of the new year.

  • Trevis Gipson: Let go by Chicago

The Bears waived Gipson on Tuesday, Adam Jahns of The Athletic reports. Gipson requested a trade Saturday after seeing his role diminish during training camp. Unable to find a trade partner, the Bears opted to let go of Gipson, who will look for opportunities elsewhere should he clear waivers. The 2020 fifth-round pick out of Tulsa has accumulated 75 tackles (41 solo), 10 sacks, five forced fumbles and a fumble recovery in 40 games over his three-year career.

  • Bears' Trevis Gipson: Seeking trade

The Bears have given Gipson permission to seek a trade, Jeremy Fowler of ESPN.com reports. Gipson saw his production decrease for the Bears in 2022, as he was in a nearly equal timeshare with Al-Quadin Muhammad. He is looking at a similar role in the upcoming season and would prefer to find a defense with a 3-4 system. It is unclear what his market value will be or how quickly a trade will be completed.

  • Bears' Trevis Gipson: Back in sack column

Gipson recorded a sack and one tackle in the Bears' 41-10 loss to the Lions on Sunday. Gipson recorded a sack for the first time since notching a pair of them in Week 2. He's recorded two or fewer tackles in 12 of his last 13 games, and he'll remain a low-floor IDP option in Week 18 against Minnesota.

  • Bears' Trevis Gipson: Enters third year with Chicago

Gipson is one of four defensive ends to make the Bears' 53-man roster, according to the team's official site. Gipson broke out last year with seven sacks and 39 tackles while playing 469 snaps last year. He'll likely rotate with expected starters Robert Quinn and Al-Quadin Muhammad. His best IDP value will likely be in leagues that heavily weight sacks.

  • Bears' Trevis Gipson: Expected to start at defensive end

Gipson is likely to start across from Robert Quinn at defensive end, Alyssa Barbieri of USA Today reports. Although the Bears also have newcomer Al-Quadin Muhammad and rookie Dominique Robinson set to rotate in along the defensive line frequently, Gipson currently projects to lead the defensive ends in snaps along with Quinn. Coming off a seven-sack performance as a second-year player last season, Gipson will likely have the most IDP value in leagues that award weighted points for sacks.
