  • James Proche: Reverts to practice squad

Proche reverted to the Titans' practice squad Monday, per the NFL's official transaction log. Proche was elevated to the active roster prior to Sunday's 22-21 win over the Cardinals, but he ultimately didn't appear in the game. The wide receiver can now be elevated two more times this season before Tennessee would have to officially sign him to the active roster.

  • Titans' James Proche: Elevated from practice squad

The Titans elevated Proche from their practice squad Saturday ahead of Sunday's game versus the Cardinals, Jim Wyatt of the team's official site reports. Proche should provide extra depth at receiver, as Bryce Oliver (knee) has been ruled out and Calvin Ridley is questionable (knee/elbow). This is the first time this season Tennessee has elevated Proche, and the team will be eligible to do so two more times.

  • James Proche: Back with Titans on practice squad

The Titans signed Proche to the practice squad Wednesday, Jim Wyatt of the team's official site reports. Proche signed with the Titans in March after spending the last two seasons with the Browns. He entered training camp looking to carve out a spot for himself on the Titans' 53-man roster as a return specialist, but fourth-round rookie Chimere Dike appears to be the man to handle those duties for the start of the regular season. Proche is a candidate to be elevated to the active roster should the Titans require depth at wide receiver or special teams.

  • Browns' James Proche: Special-teams role in finale

Proche returned one kickoff for 19 yards and was not targeted in Saturday's 35-10 loss to the Ravens in Week 18. Proche filled the return role on punts, much like he's done whenever the Browns added him to the active roster this season, and had his first kickoff return. The 2020 sixth-round pick will now be on Cleveland's 53-man roster for the final two games of the regular season, and he could see more offensive snaps against the Dolphins on Sunday due to injuries to Jerry Jeudy (knee), Cedric Tillman (concussion) and tight end David Njoku (knee).

After the Browns forced a three-and-out punt on Kansas City's first possession, Proche lost the handle on a return at the Browns' 21-yard line. Three plays later, Cleveland was in a 7-0 hole. Kadarius Toney muffed a punt in Week 14 and was cut from the roster last Tuesday, so there could be further changes to the return team coming. The Browns elevated Proche from their practice squad to their active roster Saturday in advance of Sunday's contest against Kansas City, Daniel Oyefusi of ESPN.com reports. Last Sunday versus Pittsburgh, Proche made the most of his two offensive snaps, recording two catches on two targets for 18 yards.
