Browns' Denzel Ward: Good to go against Tennessee
Ward (hand) is active for Sunday's game against the Titans.
Ward popped up on Friday's injury report due to a hand injury, logging a limited session in the process. A late addition to the injury report isn't typically a good sign, but the veteran cornerback has been given the green light to play in Sunday's road game. Ward has 25 tackles (15 solo), three pass defenses (including one interception) and two forced fumbles through six regular-season games.

Browns' Denzel Ward: Questionable with new hand injury
Ward (hand) is listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the Titans, Zac Jackson of The Athletic reports.
Ward appeared on the Browns' Friday injury report with a new hand injury. The cornerback managed to log a limited session despite the issue, but it remains uncertain whether he will be able to play through the injury in Sunday's contest. If Ward cannot suit up, Mekhi Blackmon or Toriano Pride will start at outside cornerback across from Tyson Campbell.

Browns' Denzel Ward: Logs interception in close win
Ward logged four tackles (three solo) and had one pass defensed for an interception in the Browns' 27-24 win over the Steelers on Thursday.
Ward intercepted Aaron Rodgers early in the second quarter on a deep throw. The cornerback came down with the ball at the Browns' 44-yard line, and the team's offense quickly marched down for a four-play, 56-yard touchdown to tie the game at seven. Ward also played all 64 of the Browns' defensive snaps in the contest.

Browns' Denzel Ward: Gets contract extension
Ward (neck) and the Browns have agreed to a two-year, $62.2 million contract extension, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
Ward's new deal -- which includes $52.3 million guaranteed -- makes him the highest paid defensive back in NFL history for the second time in his career. The 29-year-old corner was limited during team drills in minicamp last month, but he's presumably past the issue ahead of training camp. Ward is set to reprise his starting role in 2026.

Browns' Denzel Ward: Not doing team drills at minicamp
Ward (neck) did not participate in full team drills during the Browns' minicamp session Tuesday, Daniel Oyefusi of ESPN.com reports.
After missing voluntary OTAs, Ward is at least back in Cleveland's facility for mandatory minicamp. It's not clear at this point if his limitations are due to the neck injury he suffered during last year's season finale or if they're related to a contract dispute, but it's possible a new deal could be in Ward's near future regardless.

Browns' Denzel Ward: Production dips in 2025
Ward (neck) recorded 39 total tackles (29 solo) and nine passes defensed, including one interception, across 15 regular-season games in 2025.
The 28-year-old sustained a neck injury in the first quarter of Cleveland's season finale that sidelined him for the remainder of the game. Despite playing 47 more defensive snaps than he did in 2024, Ward saw declines in total tackles (49 to 39), passes defensed (19 to nine), interceptions (two to one) and forced fumbles (one to zero). Even so, the Ohio State product remained one of Cleveland's most productive corners, finishing with the second-most passes defensed on the team. Under contract through 2027, Ward will look to return to form as one of the NFL's top boundary cornerbacks ahead of next season.
