Buccaneers' David Sills: Opening season on IR
Sills (undisclosed) was placed on injured reserve by the Buccaneers on Sunday with a designation to return, Scott Smith of the team's official website reports.
Sills appears to have picked up an undisclosed injury at some point during the preseason. The wide receiver played in one of the team's preseason contests, reeling in one of two targets for minus-1 yard. Sills will now be forced to miss at least four contests while on IR, and the earliest he can return to action is Week 5 against the Cowboys on Oct. 8.

Sills logged career-best numbers during his only season with the Falcons in 2025, securing 18 of 36 targets for 191 yards and two touchdowns across 17 regular-season appearances. The 6-foot-3, 211-pound wideout will now work to secure a role on Tampa Bay's crowded wide receiver depth chart.

The 29-year-old wideout came on late in the season, accumulating 126 receiving yards across the Falcons' last four regular-season contests. He finished the year as Atlanta's fifth-leading receiver, trailing Drake London (919 yards) and Darnell Mooney (443 yards) in the WR corps. Sills is set to become an unrestricted free agent this offseason, but a return to Atlanta remains possible since the team's receiver depth is thin outside of London and Mooney.

Sills caught three passes on four targets for 37 yards during the Falcons' 27-24 win over the Rams on Monday.
Sills finished Monday's game leading the Falcons in receiving yards and second in receptions behind Bijan Robinson' five. Sills' production came despite Kirk Cousins throwing for only 126 yards on 13 completions, and with Drake London not looking fully recovered from a knee injury. Sills and the Falcons will wrap up the regular season Sunday at home against the Saints.

Sills secured six of 10 targets for 78 yards in the Falcons' 29-28 win over the Buccaneers on Thursday night.
Sills finished third across the board in receptions, receiving yards and targets for the Falcons on what was a banner night for the air attack, putting together a career-best effort in the process. The veteran West Virginia product continued to play an expanded role due to the absence of Drake London (knee), but Sills could be due for a reduction in opportunity in a Week 16 road matchup against the Cardinals that the former could be ready to suit up for.

Sills was a nonfactor against Seattle, failing to record a single reception for the eighth time this season. The 29-year-old wideout scored his only two touchdowns of the season in back-to-back weeks prior to Week 14, but he has otherwise been an afterthought in Atlanta's passing attack. Sills played the most offensive snaps (60) of any Falcons' wide receiver Sunday with Drake London (knee) sidelined. Despite his increased playing time, Sills should not be trusted for fantasy purposes heading into a Week 15 matchup against the Buccaneers.

Sills caught two of four targets for 15 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 27-24 loss to the Jets.
Sills' nine-yard touchdown catch in the fourth quarter gave him a two-game touchdown streak after the 29-year-old wide receiver hadn't scored in any of his first 25 regular-season NFL games. He has accounted for two of Kirk Cousins' three touchdown passes this season, showing some decent chemistry with the veteran quarterback, but Sills hasn't exceeded 16 receiving yards in a game this season heading into a Week 14 home game against the Seahawks.

Sills caught two of three targets for 16 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 24-10 win over the Saints.
Sills' trip to the end zone was his first score of the season. The 29-year-old wideout played 39 of the Falcons' 56 offensive snaps Sunday, the most of any Atlanta wide receiver. Sills' increase in playing time was a result of Drake London (knee) missing the contest due to a PCL sprain in his left knee. If London is forced to miss more time, fantasy managers in deep leagues could consider Sills as an option in a Week 13 matchup against the Jets, though his minimal yardage on limited targets makes him extremely difficult to trust for meaningful fantasy production.
