Cortez Broughton: Gets practice squad deal
Broughton signed with the Chiefs' practice squad Tuesday, Matt Derrick of ChiefsDigest.com reports.
Broughton originally joined the Chiefs in February, but he began training camp on the PUP list and was ultimately waived with an injury settlement Aug. 5. Now healthy, Broughton has been brought back and will try and work his way to the active roster.

Broughton kicked off camp in Kansas City by landing on the reserve/PUP list. It is unclear what issue he is dealing with, but he will now be free to look for a new opportunity once his health allows it.

Broughton (undisclosed) reverted to the Chiefs' reserve/physically unable to perform list Thursday, per the NFL's official transaction report.
Broughton was waived from Kansas City's roster with a failed physical designation Wednesday, but he will transition to the team's reserve/PUP list after passing through waivers. If he is not activated from this list before the team's final roster cut-down date, the fourth-year defensive lineman will be forced to miss the first four games of the regular season.
