  • Panthers' Hunter Renfrow: Crucial catch vs. Dallas

Renfrow caught one of two targets for seven yards during Sunday's 30-27 win over the Cowboys. Although Renfrow underwhelmed again in the Week 6 win, his only catch came on a crucial fourth-down conversion late in the fourth quarter that helped set up the Panthers' game-winning field goal. The veteran wideout from Clemson has now caught just four of seven targets for 24 yards over Carolina's last three games, and his role is expected to diminish even further once Jalen Coker (quadriceps) returns from injured reserve.

  • Panthers' Hunter Renfrow: Another quiet outing

Renfrow caught one of three targets for seven yards in Sunday's 27-24 win over the Dolphins. Renfrow logged 28 offensive snaps in Sunday's contest, operating as the team's No. 3 wideout behind Tetairoa McMillan (58) and Xavier Legette (51). However, he wasn't heavily involved in the offense, finishing with fewer yards than both Jimmy Horn (31 total yards) and Brycen Tremayne (nine yards). Renfrow has now caught just five of nine targets over the past three games, suggesting his role in the Panthers' offense has diminished. He's likely to continue playing a reserve role in Carolina's wide-receiver corps in the Week 6 matchup against the Cowboys.

  • Panthers' Hunter Renfrow: Just two catches versus Pats

Renfrow caught both of his targets for 10 yards in Sunday's 42-13 loss to the Patriots. Renforw has been held in check over the Panthers' last two contests, catching four of his six targets for just 16 yards, despite Carolina being without two of its top wideouts in Jalen Coker (quadriceps) and Xavier Legette (hamstring). Additionally, Renfrow (32 snaps) played fewer offensive snaps than Brycen Tremayne (53 snaps), suggesting he's operating as the Panthers' No. 3 wide receiver even with all the injuries. His role in Carolina's offense seems to have diminished, making him a risky fantasy option in a Week 5 matchup against the Dolphins.

  • Panthers' Hunter Renfrow: Held to six yards

Renfrow recorded two catches on four targets for six yards in Sunday's 30-0 win over Atlanta. The Panthers held a comfortable lead for most of the game and also had a pick-six, limiting the team's passing volume. As a result, Renfrow finished second on the team with four targets, though that translated to an abysmal six yards. Renfrow has a clear role in the offense -- particularly while Jalen Coker (hamstring) is sidelined -- but he's been held under 15 receiving yards in two of three games this season.

  • Panthers' Hunter Renfrow: Week 3 Waiver Priority List

Renfrow had a solid game in Week 2 at Arizona with seven catches for 48 yards and two touchdowns on nine targets despite dealing with a rib injury, and he now has 15 targets in two games with the Panthers. Jalen Coker (quadriceps) could return in Week 5, but Renfrow should continue to be a decent weapon for Bryce Young until then. Renfrow could be a potential No. 3 PPR receiver in Week 3 against Atlanta, and he's worth adding for up to 5 percent of your remaining FAB.

  • Panthers' Hunter Renfrow: Hauls in two scores Sunday

Renfrow (ribs) racked up seven receptions on nine targets for 48 yards and a pair of touchdowns in Sunday's 27-22 loss to Arizona. Renfrow was cleared from the rib injury that limited him during the practice week, and his strong play solidified his clean bill of health. The veteran slot man was held to just 11 yards on two receptions in his first action since 2023 last week, but this was a significant spike in both usage and production. Both of Renfrow's scores were quick strikes from within five yards of the end zone as Carolina tried to claw its way back into this contest. Fantasy managers shouldn't expect this kind of scoring output on a regular basis, but Renfrow can generate PPR value against the Falcons next Sunday.

  • Panthers' Hunter Renfrow: Cleared to suit up Week 2

Renfrow (ribs) doesn't have an injury designation for Sunday's game against the Cardinals. Renfrow upgraded to full participation in Friday's practice after opening the week with a pair of limited sessions. The veteran slot receiver was understandably sore after his first regular-season NFL action since the 2023 campaign in Carolina's Week 1 loss to the Jaguars. Renfrow had two catches for 11 yards on six targets in the season opener.

  • Panthers' Hunter Renfrow: Another limited practice Thursday

Renfrow (ribs) remained limited in practice Thursday. Renfrow has started Week 2 prep with consecutive limited practices. A full showing Friday would likely help the veteran slot receiver avoid an injury designation for Sunday's game in Arizona. Renfrow turned six targets into only 11 yards in his Panthers debut against the Jaguars in Week 1, as Carolina quarterback Bryce Young struggled.

  • Panthers' Hunter Renfrow: Nabs two passes in Panthers debut

Renforw caught two of his six targets for 11 yards in Sunday's 26-10 loss to the Jaguars. The veteran wideout logged 42 offensive snaps during Sunday's loss, ranking third amongst Carolina receivers behind Tetairoa McMillan (53) and Xavier Legette (50). Although Bryce Young was forced to throw 35 times due to Carolina's 20-point fourth-quarter deficit, Renfrow still finished third on the team in targets, which could be a promising sign for his role in this offense. Renfrow is expected to continue serving as the Panthers' No. 3 wide receiver as the team travels to Arizona in Week 2.

  • Panthers' Hunter Renfrow: Listed as starter on depth chart

Renfrow is listed as a starter on Carolina's first unofficial depth chart of the regular season. Renfrow re-signed with the Panthers on Saturday after being released on cutdown day. He spent training camp with Carolina and is set to operate in the slot while Tetairoa McMillan and Xavier Legette work on the outside. Renfrow's ascent up the depth chart was spurred on by the Panthers trading fellow veteran slot receiver Adam Thielen to Minnesota and Jalen Coker (quadriceps) going on IR.

  • Panthers' Hunter Renfrow: Week 1 Adds (WR Preview)

With Jalen Coker on Injured Reserve, Renfrow is set to operate in the same slot role that both Adam Thielen and Jalen Coker have feasted in the past two seasons. That role won't be as prominent with Tetairoa McMillan giving the team a true number one wide receiver, but in deeper leagues I do think Renfrow has a chance to score double digit points per week until Coker gets back.

  • Panthers' Hunter Renfrow: Will suit up Sunday

Panthers head coach Dave Canales said Monday that Renfrow will play Sunday versus the Jaguars, Steve Reed of the Associated Press reports. Renfrow failed to secure a spot on Carolina's initial 53-man roster but was re-signed by the team Saturday in the wake of Jalen Coker (quadriceps) being placed on IR and ruled out for at least the first four games of the season. The Panthers also traded Adam Thielen to Minnesota on Thursday, meaning after spending the offseason with the team, Renfrow now is competing with just David Moore and Jimmy Horn for opportunities behind Tetairoa McMillan (hamstring) and Xavier Legette in Week 1.

  • Panthers' Hunter Renfrow: Quiet in preseason finale

Renfrow caught two of three targets for five yards in Thursday's preseason loss to Pittsburgh. The Panthers rested most of their starters and some key backups, allowing Renfrow, Jalen Coker and David Moore to take most of the WR snaps early on. Renfrow didn't show much Thursday night, but recent trade rumors regarding Adam Thielen perhaps offer Renfrow a path to some kind of role with Carolina early in the season. There's also a chance the 29-year-old slot specialist has to settle for a spot on the practice squad or is let go entirely before Week 1.

  • Panthers' Hunter Renfrow: Unlikely to play Friday

Renfrow (hamstring) is not expected to play in Friday's preseason opener against the Browns, Joe Person of The Athletic rpeorts. Renfrow is working through a hamstring injury and hasn't practiced since late July, but there's optimism that the veteran wideout will be available for the Panthers' second preseason game against the Texans on Saturday, Aug. 16. Renfrow's absence opens the door for wideouts further down the depth chart to get more reps on offense, including David Moore, Jimmy Horn and Brycen Tremayne. Renfrow signed a one-year contract with the Panthers in April after taking a season off in 2024.

  • Panthers' Hunter Renfrow: Progressing but not practicing

Renfrow (hamstring) has resumed running but isn't yet back at practice, Steve Reed of the Associated Press reports. Renfrow has sat out roughly one week of practices due to a tweaked hamstring, but Carolina appears to be taking a cautious approach to the veteran wideout's return. That caution seems prudent, given that Renfrow last suited up for NFL action in 2023. The 29-year-old slot specialist is competing for reps in a surprisingly crowded Panthers receiving corps.

  • Panthers' Hunter Renfrow: Tweaks hamstring

Renfrow (hamstring) didn't practice Wednesday, Darin Gantt of the Panthers' official site reports. Per Gantt and Mike Kaye of The Charlotte Observer, Renfrow's hamstring issue isn't anything long-term, with the veteran wideout having told coach Dave Canales that he'd be able to play this week if there was a game. When healthy, Renfrow -- who last saw regular-season action in 2023 -- will look to secure a slot role in a Panthers WR corps that also includes Tetairoa McMillan, Adam Thielen, Xavier Legette and Jalen Coker.

  • Panthers' Hunter Renfrow: Returns to NFL, signs with Carolina

Renfrow and the Panthers agreed on a one-year contract Sunday, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports. Renfrow will make his return to the NFL after taking a season off in 2024. The wide receiver most recently reeled in 25 of 37 targets for 255 yards over 17 games with the Raiders in 2023. Renfrow's best campaign came in 2021, when he caught 103 of 128 targets for 1,038 yards and 10 touchdowns with Las Vegas while appearing in the Pro Bowl after that season. The 29-year-old is a Myrtle Beach, South Carolina native and attended Clemson for college, so he'll now be looking to get his career back on track with what is effectively his hometown team in 2025.

  • Hunter Renfrow: Cut loose by Las Vegas

The Raiders will release Renfrow on Wednesday, Tashan Reed of The Athletic reports. The move will open up $8.21 million in cap space for the Raiders in 2024 and was seen as an inevitability unless Renfrow agreed to a large paycut. He caught 103 passes for 1,038 yards and nine touchdowns in 2021 -- his third NFL season -- but then had only 585 yards in 27 games the past two seasons after signing a two-year, $32.33 million extension. He made it through the first season of the extension, but he'll now become a free agent a few months after his 28th birthday. Meanwhile, the Raiders have Davante Adams, Jakobi Meyers and Tre Tucker atop their depth chart at wide receiver, with the latter having replaced Renfrow in the No. 3 role at times during the 2023 season.
... See More ... See Less
  • Raiders' Hunter Renfrow: Catchless over last four games

Renfrow, who didn't catch a single pass throughout the Raiders' final four games, ended the 2023 season with 25 total receptions for 255 yards on 37 targets in 17 contests. Renfrow's otherwise disappointing 2023 campaign was highlighted by a three-game stretch between Weeks 11 and 14 in which he posted a 12-126-0 line on 14 targets, but he promptly saw his playing time dwindle thereafter in favor of rookie Tre Tucker's development behind fellow wideouts Davante Adams and Jakobi Meyers. If the team is unable to find a trade partner for Renfrow this offseason, the 28-year-old slot receiver could be a release candidate at a $5.5 million dead cap expense, which would save the Raiders about $8.2 million in cap space.
... See More ... See Less
  • Raiders' Hunter Renfrow: Not targeted in loss

Renfrow was not targeted in Sunday's 23-20 loss to the Colts. Renfrow has played 12 or less snaps in back-to-back games with rookie Tre Tucker assuming the No. 3 wide receiver role behind Davante Adams and Jakobi Meyers. Renfrow hasn't recorded a single reception since posting a 3-46-0 line Week 14 against the Vikings, and he figures to continue losing playing time to Tucker versus the Broncos in the upcoming regular season finale.
