  • Steelers' Jabrill Peppers: On track to play Week 11

Peppers (quadriceps) was a full participant in Wednesday's practice, Brooke Pryor of ESPN.com reports. Peppers missed the Steelers' last two games due to a quadriceps injury, but his ability to practice in full Wednesday indicates that he'll be available for Sunday's AFC North clash against the Bengals. Peppers' return gives the Steelers another contributor on special teams and added depth at safety behind Kyle Dugger and Jalen Ramsey.

  • Steelers' Jabrill Peppers: Won't play Week 10

Peppers (quadriceps) has been ruled out for Sunday's game against the Chargers, Teresa Varley of the Steelers' official site reports. Peppers was unable to practice all week and will miss a second consecutive game due to a quadriceps injury, and his next opportunity to play is Week 11 against Cincinnati on Sunday, Nov. 16. Chuck Clark and Juan Thornhill will serve as the Steelers' backup safeties behind Kyle Dugger and Jalen Ramsey for Sunday's contest.

  • Steelers' Jabrill Peppers: Still sidelined Wednesday

Peppers (quadriceps) did not practice Wednesday, Brooke Pryor of ESPN.comreports. Peppers was held out of Sunday's win over the Colts after suffering the quad injury during practice. It's concerning that he's still sidelined, but he'll still have two days to increase his participation and have a chance to suit up in Week 10 against the Chargers.

  • Steelers' Jabrill Peppers: Won't play Week 9

Peppers (quadriceps) has been ruled out ahead of Sunday's game against the Colts, Brooke Pryor of ESPN.com reports. Peppers suffered a quad injury during the week and was limited in practice Thursday before being unable to practice at all Friday. The Steelers' secondary will be missing several players, as DeShon Elliott (knee) landed on injured reserve earlier in the week, while Chuck Clark (illness) is questionable.

  • Steelers' Jabrill Peppers: Strikes deal with Pittsburgh

Peppers and the Steelers agreed to a contract Tuesday, Ian Rapoport and Mike Garafolo of NFL Network report. After he was surprisingly released by the Patriots at the conclusion of the preseason, Peppers remained unsigned for Week 1 but has now found a new home in Pittsburgh. Assuming he can get caught up with the Steelers' defensive playbook quickly, Peppers could be in line for a prominent role in the secondary in Sunday's game against the Seahawks after Pittsburgh lost starting safety DeShon Elliott (knee) to an injury in the season-opening win over the Jets. With New England last season, Peppers tallied 40 tackles, one interception and one forced fumble in six appearances.

  • Jabrill Peppers: Let go by New England

The Patriots released Peppers on Friday, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports. Peppers originally made the Patriots' 53-man roster and was expected to be a part of the team's safety rotation alongside Jaylinn Hawkins and rookie fourth-rounder Craig Woodson. However, the Patriots have elected to move on from the veteran safety, who should draw plenty of interest from teams looking to bolster depth in the secondary. Peppers played in 38 regular-season games (26 starts) for the Patriots over the past three years, posting 178 tackles (107 solo), including 1.0 sacks, and three interceptions in that span.

  • Patriots' Jabrill Peppers: Getting in reps at OTAs

Peppers (hamstring) is participating during OTAs, Eric J. Adler of the Patriots' official site reports. Peppers ended last season on New England's injured reserve list with a hamstring issue, but he seems to be back in good shape with offseason workouts now underway. The Patriots did add competition for snaps during the draft in the form of fourth-rounder Craig Woodson, but Peppers will likely start at safety next to Kyle Dugger (ankle) in 2025.

  • Patriots' Jabrill Peppers: Lands on IR due to hamstring injury

The Patriots placed Peppers (hamstring) on injured reserve Saturday, Chris Mason of The Springfield Republican reports. Peppers was already ruled out for Sunday's regular-season finale against the Bills due to a foot injury, and his placement on injured reserve gave the Patriots space on the 53-man roster to sign corner Miles Battle from the practice squad. Peppers managed to play in only six regular-season games due to suspension and injuries, and he'll finish 2024 with 40 tackles (20 solo), two pass defenses (including one interception) and one forced fumble.

  • Patriots' Jabrill Peppers: Out for season finale

Peppers (hamstring) has been ruled out for Sunday's game against the Bills, Doug Kyed of the Boston Herald reports. Peppers missed eight contests on the commissioner's exempt list earlier in the season and will now miss the final three games with a hamstring injury. The veteran safety appeared in just six games this season, logging 40 tackles (20 solo) and two pass breakups, including one interception. Peppers signed a three-year, $24 million extension through 2027 back in July.

  • Patriots' Jabrill Peppers: Inactive vs. Bills

Peppers (hamstring) is inactive for Sunday's outing against Buffalo. Peppers recorded nine tackles (five solo) during Sunday's 25-24 loss versus the Colts. Peppers returned from an eight-game absence in Week 13 and picked up right where he left off, playing all 58 of New England's defensive snaps and tallying a season-high tackle total. Peppers (knee) is questionable to play against the Colts on Sunday. Peppers was removed from the commissioner's exempt list Monday, and he's been limited in practice all week due to a knee injury. His status for Sunday's game may not be known until the Patriots release their inactives list approximately 90 minutes before the 1:00 p.m. ET kickoff. In the four games prior to his suspension, Peppers logged 23 tackles (11 solo) and two pass defenses (including one interception).

Peppers (knee) was a limited participant in Wednesday's practice, Evan Lazar of the Patriots' official site reports. Peppers returned to practice Wednesday after being removed from the commissioner's exempt list Monday, but he appears to have picked up a knee injury despite not playing in the Patriots' last eight games. His participation Thursday and Friday will likely offer the best insight into whether he can return for Sunday's matchup against the Colts.

  • Patriots' Jabrill Peppers: Expects to return to practice

Coach Jerod Mayo said Tuesday that he anticipates Peppers will practice during the week after being removed from the commissioner's exempt list, Chad Graff of The Athletic reports. The issue that led to Peppers' arrest and placement on the commissioner's exempt list back in October is still the subject of a league inquiry, but it looks like he'll have the okay to practice ahead of Week 13. Whether he'll play versus the Colts is still up in the air.

  • Patriots' Jabrill Peppers: Placed on exempt list

The NFL has placed Peppers (shoulder) on the commissioner exempt list Monday, Mike Reiss of ESPN.com reports. Peppers' placement on the list comes after he pled not guilty Monday after being arrested Saturday in Braintree, Mass. on charges that include strangulation and drug possession. As long as the safety remains on the list, he can't practice or attend games. In four appearances this season before he sat out this past Sunday's loss to the Dolphins with a shoulder injury, Peppers recorded 23 tackles and an interception.

Peppers -- who was inactive for Sunday's 15-10 loss to the Dolphins due to a shoulder injury -- is scheduled to appear in court Monday following his arrest. The Patriots and the NFL will likely wait for more details to emerge and allow the legal process to play out before the 29-year-old safety is subject to discipline.

  • Patriots' Jabrill Peppers: Won't play vs. Miami

Peppers (shoulder) has been ruled out ahead of Sunday's divisional game against the Dolphins, Doug Kyed of the Boston Herald reports. Peppers injured his shoulder in Week 4 against the 49ers. He was able to log back-to-back limited practice sessions to end the week, but it appears his shoulder injury is too severe enough for him to play Sunday. Peppers' next chance at suiting up will be against the Texans in Week 6. Dell Pettus and Jaylinn Hawkins could serve as the Patriots' starting safeties due to Peppers being ruled out and Kyle Dugger listed as questionable after missing practice all week due to an ankle injury.

  • Patriots' Jabrill Peppers: Gets back on field

Peppers (shoulder) was a limited participant in practice Thursday, Evan Lazar of the Patriots' official site reports. Peppers logged a DNP on Wednesday, so it's a move in the right direction for him. The Michigan product dealt with a shoulder injury earlier in the season, but he was able to play through it, which is the likeliest scenario here. However, it'll be worth monitoring his status closer to kickoff Sunday against the Dolphins.
