Alfred Blue: Works out in Seattle
Blue (ankle) had a workout with the Seahawks on Tuesday, Field Yates of ESPN reports.
Blue spent the first eight weeks of the season on the Jaguars' injured reserve before being cut in late October, but he's apparently recovered from the ankle injury. The Seahawks worked out some veteran running backs since Rashaad Penny went down with a torn ACL, though any addition is unlikely to factor into the offense while Chris Carson and C.J. Prosise remain healthy.

Alfred Blue: Let go from IR
The Jaguars cut Blue (ankle) from IR on Monday, John Reid of The Florida Times-Union reports.
Blue will now be free to sign with another squad once he's healthy. He had a consistent role with the Texans last year, rushing 150 times for 499 yards and two touchdowns while adding 20 receptions for 154 scoreless yards over 16 games. Blue could add depth to another backfield.

Jaguars' Alfred Blue: Gets 'designated-to-return' tag
Blue (ankle) has been designated to return from injured reserve.
Blue injured his ankle preseason Week 2 and has spent time in a walking boot in the meantime. With his placement on IR after cut-down day Aug. 31, he was eligible to return to the 53-man roster at a later point in the campaign, and the Jaguars have confirmed that he'll be a candidate to do so.

Jaguars' Alfred Blue: Headed to IR
The Jaguars placed Blue (ankle) on injured reserve Sunday, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
Blue had been spotted in a walking boot early last week due to the ankle injury, and will now have to sit out the first eight games of the season before he's eligible to return. Blue's emergence as the primary backup to Leonard Fournette was a positive sign for he and the team, but now that he's sidelined, the role likely will go to rookie Ryquell Armstead. Aside from the aforementioned players, recent acquisitions Devine Ozigbo and Tyler Ervin are the remaining running backs on the roster.

Jaguars' Alfred Blue: Using walking boot
Blue (ankle) is in a walking boot and won't play in Thursday's preseason game against Miami, Phillip Heilman of The Athletic reports.
Blue's absence could provide a nice opportunity for fifth-round pick Ryquell Armstead, who passed through the final stage of the NFL's concussion protocol Sunday. The rookie still has time to make his case for a backup role, though Blue appeared to have the lead for the No. 2 job before he injured his ankle. The messy depth situation could encourage Jacksonville to give Leonard Fournette all the work he can handle.

Jaguars' Alfred Blue: Likely out preseason Week 3
Blue (ankle) is not expected to practice throughout the upcoming week and will likely miss Thursday's exhibition matchup against the Dolphins as a result, Phillip Heilman of the Athletic reports.
Blue isn't expected to miss too much more time with an ankle sprain, but the Jaguars will proceed cautiously with the veteran running back in the short term. Ryquell Armstead (head), Thomas Rawls, Elijah Hood and Devante Mays could all see additional reps out of the backfield behind Leonard Fournette with Blue still sidelined.

Jaguars' Alfred Blue: Escapes with ankle sprain
Blue has been diagnosed with an ankle sprain, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
Blue got the start in Thursday's preseason loss to Philadelphia, taking four carries for five yards before exiting with an ankle injury. He was replaced by Thomas Rawls and later Devante Mays, with rookie fifth-round pick Ryquell Armstead (head) unavailable for the contest. It still isn't clear how Jacksonville will divide backup work behind Leonard Fournette, though Blue at least seems to have a slight lead for the No. 2 job.

Jaguars' Alfred Blue: Exits early Thursday
Blue has been ruled out of Thursday's preseason game against the Eagles after suffering an ankle injury, John Oehser of the Jaguars' official site reports.
Blue suffered his injury in the first quarter of Thursday's game. Look for Devante Mays to handle much of the running back duties for the remainder of the contest.

Jaguars' Alfred Blue: Gains 21 yards to start preseason
Blue gained 20 yards on five carries and added a one-yard catch during Thursday's 29-0 loss to Baltimore.
Blue got the start Sunday with Leonard Fournette resting, but rookie RyQuell Armstead was in the mix early. It's hard to judge too much from a preseason opener in which most of the marquee names on the team sat, but how Armstead and Blue split carries is worth watching. Being the No. 2 back on a team that is built to pound the ball is valuable. No. 3, not so much.
