  • Ravens' Derrick Henry: Gets back on track

Henry rushed the ball 24 times for 122 yards in Sunday's 17-3 loss to the Rams. He added one reception on two targets for eight yards. The Ravens' offensive game plan was to feed Henry as much as possible, limiting the need for Cooper Rush to take to the air. That was effective in the first half, as Henry delivered 18 carries for 90 yards while Baltimore also controlled time of possession. Game script ultimately got away from the team, but this was a needed performance from Henry, both in terms of volume and efficiency. He recorded three rushes of more than 10 yards to top 50 yards for the first time since Week 1. Henry's 25 touches were also his most of the campaign, and he should benefit from the expected return of Lamar Jackson (hamstring) in Week 8, following the team's bye.

  • Ravens' Derrick Henry: RBs to Sit

It's tough to trust Henry in Week 6 against the Rams with Lamar Jackson (hamstring) out, and I consider Henry a flex option at best in the majority of leagues. Henry has struggled in his past four games, with 10.7 PPR points or less in all four outings, which includes two touchdowns. He's been held to 50 rushing yards or less in his past four games and has just four catches for 36 yards on six targets for the season. This is also a brutal matchup against the Rams, who are No. 2 in fewest Fantasy points allowed to opposing running backs. The Rams are the only team in the NFL yet to allow a rushing touchdown to a running back, and Henry will almost certainly be a bust in Week 6 if he fails to score.

  • Ravens' Derrick Henry: Struggles against Texans

Henry rushed the ball 15 times for 33 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 44-10 loss to the Texans. He did not catch his only target. Henry predictably couldn't find much rushing room with Cooper Rush under center, with his longest gain of the day going for seven yards. He managed to avoid complete disaster by scoring a one-yard touchdown late in the third quarter, but he's now been held to 50 rushing yards or fewer in four of five games to begin the season. Henry's outlook in Week 6 will be highly dependent on Lamar Jackson's (hamstring) availability, but he has another tough matchup against the Rams.

  • Ravens' Derrick Henry: Quiet against Kansas City

Henry carried the ball eight times for 42 yards in Sunday's 37-20 loss to Kansas City. He added two receptions on three targets for 16 yards. The Ravens attempted only 17 rushes as a team, with Lamar Jackson accounting for six of those before he exited with a hamstring injury. That left Henry with limited volume, with four rushes in each half. He performed efficiently enough by gaining double-digit yards on two carries and one reception, but the game script ultimately held him back. Henry has had a poor start to the season with three lost fumbles in high-profile situations, and he's now been held to 50 or fewer rushing yards in three consecutive games for the first time since 2018.

  • Ravens' Derrick Henry: Critical fumble in home loss

Henry rushed 12 times for 50 yards and a touchdown and brought in his only target for seven yards in the Ravens' 38-30 loss to the Lions on Monday night. He also lost a fumble. Henry was coming off a disappointing 11-carry, 23-yard performance against a tough Browns defense, so in that regard, Monday's production was encouraging on the surface. The multi-time Pro Bowler also recorded his third rushing touchdown of the season on a 28-yard run in the first quarter that answered an early Lions score. However, that was easily overshadowed by Henry's second critical fourth-quarter fumble over the first three games of the season, as he was stripped of the ball at his own 22-yard line with 8:31 remaining and Baltimore trying to overcome a 28-24 deficit. Detroit was able to add three more critical points as a result of the highly favorable field position, helping lead to the victory. Henry and his teammates won't have much time to dwell on Monday night's outcome, however, as a road trip to Kansas City for a Week 4 showdown with the Chiefs awaits this coming Sunday.

  • Ravens' Derrick Henry: Bottled up in lopsided win

Henry rushed 11 times for 23 yards and wasn't targeted during the Ravens' 41-17 win over the Browns on Sunday. He also committed a fumble recovered by Baltimore. The offense ran through Lamar Jackson and his pass catchers Sunday, as the star signal-caller finished with four touchdown passes and turned in a turnover-free performance. In contrast, Henry was consistently bottled up, and considering eight of his yards came on one carry, he truly found next to no running room throughout the afternoon. After a spectacular first three-plus quarters of the new season, Henry's fortunes have taken a turn for the worse beginning with his critical fumble in the final quarter of the Week 1 loss to the Bills. His next opportunity to reverse course will come in a Week 3 home interconference clash against the Lions on Monday night, Sept. 22.

  • Ravens' Derrick Henry: GOAT turns to goat on final drive

Henry rumbled for 169 yards and two touchdowns on 18 carries while catching his lone target for 13 yards with a lost fumble in Sunday's 41-40 loss to the Bills. Henry suffered the lowlight of Sunday's contest when the normally sure-handed back coughed up a fumble on Baltimore's second-to-last drive, allowing Buffalo to score a TD with just under two minutes remaining to close the gap to 40-38. Fantasy managers won't lost any sleep over the rare fumble, as it came on the heels of a monstrous statistical performance from the 31-year-old. The perennial All-Pro lost just one fumble over his last two full seasons, so Sunday's faux pas should be considered an anomaly. Henry is showing no signs of slowing down heading into a Week 2 matchup against the Browns.

  • Ravens' Derrick Henry: Rested for entire preseason

Henry didn't play at all during the preseason, Jonas Shaffer of TheBaltimoreBanner.com reports. Neither did Lamar Jackson, Justice Hill, Zay Flowers, Rashod Bateman or Mark Andrews, among others. Henry didn't miss any time with injuries during spring practices or training camp, seemingly still going strong at age 31. His next game will be in the same location as his last one, with the Ravens heading to Buffalo in Week 1 after losing there in the second round of the playoffs. Henry took 16 carries for 84 yards and a touchdown in the loss, unable to approach his season-high total of 199 rushing yards from Baltimore's Week 4 home win over Buffalo.

  • Ravens' Derrick Henry: Not in line to play vs. Cowboys

Henry is among the key Ravens players not slated to play in Saturday's preseason game against the Cowboys, Jamison Hensley of ESPN.com reports. Henry, who also didn't play in last Thursday's preseason opener, is no lock to see any action in the Ravens' Aug. 23 preseason finale, either. Ahead of Week 1, he's entrenched as a high-volume No. 1 option in a backfield that also includes Justice Hill, Keaton Mitchell and Rasheen Ali.

  • Ravens' Derrick Henry: Not playing Thursday

Henry and other key starters won't play in Thursday's preseason opener against the Colts, Jamison Hensley of ESPN.com reports. Henry didn't play at all last preseason and probably won't make an appearance this year. He's stayed healthy through the offseason program and the first two weeks of training camp, after signing a two-year, $30 million extension in May.

  • Ravens' Derrick Henry: Gets two-year extension with Ravens

Henry and Baltimore agreed to terms Wednesday on a two-year, $30 million contract extension, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports. Henry had been slated to earn a $6 million base salary in the final year of his deal with the Ravens, but he now gets a new contract averaging $15 million per season over the next two years, with $25 million fully guaranteed. The 31-year-old rushed for 1,921 yards and 16 scores across 17 regular-season games after inking a two-year deal with the Ravens last March, with 19 catches for 193 yards (on 22 targets) and another two touchdowns through the air. As Schefter reports, Henry now carries the highest average salary in NFL history for a running back over the age of 30, with the deal reflecting the fact that against all odds, the bruising ball carrier has yet to show any signs of slowing down. In his inaugural season with Baltimore, Henry's average of 5.9 yards per carry ranked as the highest mark of his career, and he also set new career-best marks in terms of 20-plus yard carries (19) and rushes of 40-plus yards (five). Though he boasts less pass-catching upside than other top options at the running back position, Henry's explosiveness and offensive fit alongside Lamar Jackson will likely ensure his status as one of the top players off the board in 2025 fantasy drafts.

  • Ravens' Derrick Henry: Potential extension candidate

Ravens head coach John Harbaugh said Tuesday that the team will "look at" potentially extending Henry this offseason, Brian Wacker of The Baltimore Sun reports. Henry is currently heading into the final season of the two-year, $16 million contract he inked with Baltimore after departing Tennessee as a free agent last offseason. The Ravens are now incentivized to restructure the deal -- which carries a potential 'out' for $3.9 million in dead cap -- and it's no surprise that the team would prefer to do so in the form of an extension beyond the 2025 season. Henry is coming off a phenomenal inaugural campaign in purple and black, having compiled 1,921 rushing yards and 16 touchdowns on a career-high 5.9 yards per carry across 17 games, in addition to a 19-193-2 receiving line. The 31-year-old was also productive in the Ravens' two playoff games, carrying 42 times for 270 yards and three touchdowns. Henry hasn't shown any signs of slowing down, and as long as he's playing at an elite level, he'll remain an ideal complement in the backfield to dual-threat quarterback Lamar Jackson.

  • Ravens' Derrick Henry: Solid showing in season-ending loss

Henry rushed 16 times for 84 yards and a touchdown and failed to secure either of his two targets in the Ravens' 27-25 divisional-round loss to the Bills on Sunday. Henry's opportunities were somewhat capped by a game script that saw the Ravens trail from the 8:52 mark of the second quarter on. The bruising back still managed to rattle off several chunk gains throughout the evening, and he punched in a five-yard touchdown run with 1:37 remaining in the third quarter to bring Baltimore to within two points for the first of two occasions in the second half. Henry proved a seamless fit in the first year of a two-year, $16 million contract with the Ravens, rushing for 1,921 yards -- the second-highest total of his career -- and 16 touchdowns at a career-high 5.9 yards per carry, numbers he complemented with a 19-193-2 receiving line across 17 regular-season games.

  • Ravens' Derrick Henry: Cementing place in history

Henry rambled for 186 rushing yards and two touchdowns on 26 attempts without recording a target in Saturday's 28-14 playoff win over the Steelers. Henry posted monstrous fantasy numbers despite not recording a reception in Baltimore's convincing wild-card victory. The perennial All-Pro joined another tier of legendary tailbacks when he matched Hall of Famer Jim Brown for the most games with 150 rushing yards and two touchdowns in NFL history, with that mark currently sitting at 13 regular and postseason games (source: ESPN Research). Henry could separate himself from the Browns' great in that specific regard if he can replicate those numbers in the divisional round.

  • Ravens' Derrick Henry: Breaks Ravens' rushing TD record

Henry rushed 20 times for 138 yards and two touchdowns while catching two of three targets for 23 receiving yards in Saturday's 35-10 win over Cleveland. Henry broke legendary Baltimore RB Jamal Lewis' franchise record for most rushing touchdowns in a single season with his first trip to the end zone Saturday. The 30-year-old Henry accomplished the feat in his first season with the club, setting the new high-water mark at 16 rushing touchdowns. He also became the first player in NFL history with three seasons recording at least 1,500 rushing yards and 15 rushing scores. King Henry will look to keep his strong campaign going in next week's wild-card round against either the Steelers or Chargers.

  • Ravens' Derrick Henry: Another elite rushing performance

Henry rushed 27 times for 147 yards and a touchdown and brought in both targets for 18 yards in Wednesday's 31-2 win over the Texans. Just four days after trampling the Steelers defense to the tune of 162 yards, Henry nearly matched the elite output in a victory over another AFC contender. The only true blemish on the bruising veteran's day was the fact he was dropped for a safety early in the second quarter. Otherwise, Henry was brilliant while snapping a four-game touchdown drought and pushing his rushing yardage total up to 1,783 for the season, the second-best mark of his career. He'll have a chance to pile up more yardage in the Ravens' regular-season finale against the Browns.

  • Ravens' Derrick Henry: Subdued performance in Week 15

Henry rushed 14 times for 67 yards and wasn't targeted during the Ravens' 35-14 win over the Giants on Sunday. With Lamar Jackson throwing five touchdown passes, Henry was in the rare role of forgotten man on offense Sunday. The bruising back's non-descript afternoon was his first of under 70 rushing yards without a touchdown during his nascent but stellar Ravens tenure. Henry may have a tough time bouncing back in a Week 16 Saturday afternoon home matchup against the Steelers considering the quality of Pittsburgh's run defense.

  • Ravens' Derrick Henry: Top DFS Play

The safest play on the slate may be Derrick Henry against the New York Giants. Henry should have fresh legs coming off the bye and has historically been his best the final month of the season. That would be something if he does that this year because he's already averaging 108.2 yards per game and a career-high 5.9 yards per carry. Oh yeah, he's tied for the league lead in rushing touchdowns. He faces a Giants defense that has surrendered 4.8 YPC to running backs and seven touchdowns to the position in their last five games.

  • Ravens' Derrick Henry: Punches in 15th TD of season

Henry carried the ball 13 times for 65 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 18-16 loss to the Steelers. It was Henry's lowest output since Week 1 from a yardage perspective, but he salvaged his day with a one-yard TD plunge in the second quarter. It was his 13th score of the season on the ground and 15th in total, the third time in his career he's reached that mark but the first since 2020. Henry has gotten into the end zone in 12 straight games dating back to his final game as a Titan last season, a streak he'll look to extend in Week 12 against the Chargers.

  • Ravens' Derrick Henry: Thunders for two TDs in big win

Henry carried the ball 23 times for 106 yards and two touchdowns and caught his only target for 27 yards in Sunday's 41-10 win over the Broncos. It was another dominant performance for Henry, who has 11 rushing touchdowns and five 100-yard games through the season's first nine weeks. He blew past the 1,000-yard mark on the year with this effort, sitting at a league-leading 1,052 with eight games left on the Ravens' schedule. Henry seems poised for another big game in Week 10 against a Bengals defense he churned out 92 yards and a TD against in their first meeting of 2024.
