  • Ravens' Cooper Rush: Emergency QB for TNF

Rush (coach's decision) is inactive for Thursday's game against the Dolphins but will serve as the Ravens' emergency third quarterback. Rush was the Ravens' starting QB for Weeks 5 and 6 but was demoted to backup duties behind Tyler Huntley for Week 8 against the Bears. With Lamar Jackson cleared to return from a three-game absence Thursday, Huntley will operate as the backup while Rush serves as the emergency third quarterback. As such, Rush will be permitted to see the field Thursday only if Jackson and Huntley were both removed due to injury, illness or ejection.

  • Ravens' Cooper Rush: Out of Week 8 QB picture

Coach John Harbaugh said Friday that Tyler Huntley, rather than Rush, would start Sunday's game against the Bears if Lamar Jackson (hamstring) doesn't play. Jackson's listed as questionable but is trending toward returning after practicing without limitations Friday. Rush started Weeks 5 and 6 while Jackson was sidelined, but the Ravens scored only 13 points in those two games combined. Huntley's more mobile than Rush and could run an offense more comparable stylistically to the one Baltimore runs with Jackson.

  • Ravens' Cooper Rush: Benched in loss to Rams

Rush completed 11 of 19 passes for 72 yards, no touchdowns and one interception in Sunday's 17-3 loss to the Rams. He also had one rush for zero yards while losing a fumble. Rush drew his second straight start in the absence of Lamar Jackson (hamstring). He ran a decent first possession that resulted in a field goal, completing both of his passes for 12 yards while also scrambling for seven. However, he was intercepted on Baltimore's following drive and the team had several additional miscues before Rush was finally pulled after losing a fumble deep in Rams territory late in the third quarter. Jackson is expected back in Week 8 following Baltimore's bye, and Rush could be in danger of being demoted to the third-string quarterback.

  • Ravens' Cooper Rush: Another spot start on tap

Rush will start Sunday against the Rams after the Ravens ruled out Lamar Jackson (hamstring) for that contest, Brian Wacker of The Baltimore Sun reports. Earlier Friday, coach John Harbaugh declined to give a game designation for Jackson ahead of Week 6 action but added that if he doesn't play, Rush would get the nod under center, per Jamison Hensley of ESPN.com. Now that the preceding has come to pass, Rush will start his second straight game this weekend, though he'll be looking to be more productive after completing 14-for-20 passes for 179 yards, no touchdowns and three interceptions during this past Sunday's 44-10 loss to the Texans.

  • Ravens' Cooper Rush: Picked off three times

Rush completed 14 of 20 passes for 179 yards, no touchdowns and three interceptions in Sunday's 44-10 loss to the Texans. Rush led the Ravens on a decent first drive that resulted in a field goal, completing all five of his pass attempts for 59 yards. Things imploded from there, however, as the Ravens turned in consecutive three-and-outs to end the first half before Rush threw three picks in the final two quarters. The one positive is that Rush was able to complete a long pass to Zay Flowers, salvaging the star receiver's fantasy day. Rush could be lined up for a Week 6 start against the Rams, pending Lamar Jackson's (hamstring) recovery.

  • Ravens' Cooper Rush: Drawing start in Week 5

Rush is slated to start at quarterback in Sunday's game against the Texans, Brian Wacker of The Baltimore Sun reports. With Lamar Jackson (hamstring) set to miss his first game for injury-related reasons since 2022, Rush will step in to make his first start as a member of the Ravens. Over his previous eight seasons in the league, Rush made 38 appearances and 14 starts for the Cowboys, completing 60.7 percent of his passes for 6.4 yards per attempt and a 20:10 TD:INT. Though Rush has been capable as a game manager when called upon to start, he brings little running upside to the table, thereby limiting much of his appeal as a fantasy option. In order to ease the burden on Rush in his first start of 2025, the Ravens could favor a run-heavy game plan led by Derrick Henry so long as the contest remains competitive.

  • Ravens' Cooper Rush: Looks poised for Week 5 start

Rush appears likely to start Sunday's game against the Texans with Lamar Jackson (hamstring) expected to be sidelined, Brian Wacker of The Baltimore Sun reports. The Ravens haven't provided official word on Jackson's status for Week 5 after he exited midway through the third quarter of Sunday's 37-20 loss to Kansas City with a hamstring issue, but a source familiar with the quarterback's injury said that he could be out 2-3 weeks. Jackson plans to try and play this coming Sunday, but in the likely event that he can't, Rush would step in to make his 15th career NFL start and his first with Baltimore. While coming on in relief of Jackson in Week 4, the former Cowboy completed nine of 13 pass attempts for 52 yards. Rush has proven to be a competent game manager in the past, but since he lacks rushing ability and has averaged a middling 6.3 yards per pass attempt for his career, he doesn't profile as an especially enticing fantasy option.

  • Ravens' Cooper Rush: Week 5 Waiver Priority List

We'll see if Lamar Jackson (hamstring) can play in Week 5 against Houston, but if he's out, then Rush would start for the Ravens. Baltimore also has a bye in Week 7, so we'll see if the Ravens plan to be cautious with Jackson if he's not at 100 percent. Rush took over for Jackson in Week 4 at Kansas City and was 9-of-13 passing for 52 yards in garbage time, and it would be tough to trust him in one-quarterback leagues against the Texans. But if Rush is going to start at all, then he should be added in all Superflex and two-quarterback leagues for at least 10 percent of your remaining FAB.

  • Ravens' Cooper Rush: On track to start preseason finale

Ravens coach John Harbaugh said Tuesday that Rush will likely start Saturday's preseason game against the Commanders, Jeff Zrebiec of The Athletic reports. Harbaugh said he plans to sit his starters again versus Washington, just as Baltimore did during last Saturday's 31-13 preseason win over the Cowboys. During that contest, Rush completed 20 of 30 passes for 198 yards, one touchdown and two interceptions, and across his two exhibition appearances thus far Rush has thrown three INTs. While he still appears the favorite for the No. 2 quarterback role behind Lamar Jackson over second-year pro Devin Leary, it will serve Rush well to avoid any further turnovers versus the Commanders.

  • Ravens' Cooper Rush: Turnover problems continue

Rush completed 20 of 30 passes for 198 yards, one touchdown and two interceptions in Saturday's 31-13 preseason win over the Cowboys. Rush had emerged as a servicable backup during his time with the Cowboys, but this preseason has not gone his way through two contests. He threw an interception on his first pass attempt in his first exhibition game and then threw a pick-six late in the first quarter against his former team Saturday. Rush also managed to lead three scoring drives, including one he capped off with a one-yard touchdown throw, and he should still be in line to serve as Lamar Jackson's backup come Week 1 of the regular season.

  • Ravens' Cooper Rush: Throws pick on first pass

Rush completed two of four passes for 16 yards, with an interception, in Thursday's preseason game against Indianapolis. Rush got the start, leading the second-string offense, and threw an ugly interception on the second snap of the game. The Ravens then scored a touchdown on his second and final drive, although Rush didn't do much besides hand the ball to RB Keaton Mitchell. Rush's contract and track record put him safely in the No. 2 QB role for Baltimore, preseason miscues aside.

  • Ravens' Cooper Rush: Set to back up Lamar Jackson

Rush and the Ravens have agreed to a two-year contract valued at up to $12.2 million, Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reports. Rush spent the first eight seasons of his career in Dallas and made 14 starts during that span, winning nine of those games. The 31-year-old saw the most action of his career last year after Dak Prescott (hamstring) was hurt in Week 10, and Rush finished with an 83.8 passer rating, completing 61 percent of his 308 pass attempts with 12 touchdowns and five interceptions over 12 games. With Baltimore, Rush will be the No. 2 QB behind Lamar Jackson, who has missed just one regular-season contest over the past two years.

  • Cowboys' Cooper Rush: May yield reps to Lance in Week 18

Rush may start Sunday's game versus the Commanders, but backup QB Trey Lance is expected to earn "significant" snaps as well, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports. Rush has taken on the vast majority of QB reps since Dak Prescott (hamstring) was lost for the season in the second half of a Week 9 loss in Atlanta. In parts of nine games in the interim, Rush has completed 60.5 percent of his passes, averaged 199.1 yards per game and put together a 12:4 TD:INT. He's also notched 17 yards on 24 carries and fumbled nine times (three lost). With the Cowboys out of the playoff picture, it appears the team wants to see what Lance can do with more than the three brief appearances he's made so far this season, but it's also unclear how much he'll eat into Rush's typical workload.

  • Cowboys' Cooper Rush: Rough showing in blowout loss

Rush completed 15 of 28 passes for 147 yards with one touchdown and two interceptions and rushed once for two yards in the Cowboys' 41-7 loss to the Eagles on Sunday. Rush struggled to get much going against a talented Eagles defense while operating without top target CeeDee Lamb (shoulder), throwing multiple interceptions for the first time this season. Rush did extend his streak of games with at least one touchdown pass to seven when he connected with Jalen Tolbert from seven yards out in the first quarter to atone for the pick-six he'd thrown on the opening possession of the contest. Sunday's poor showing aside, Rush has been solid overall since Dak Prescott (hamstring) was lost for the season, and he'll have a chance to close out the 2024 campaign on a better note when he faces a vulnerable Commanders secondary in Week 18.

  • Cowboys' Cooper Rush: Week 16 Streamers (QB Preview)

Whereas I actually want to start Rodgers, Rush is more of a "break glass in case of emergency." I would start him over Kirk Cousins, Bo Nix, CJ Stroud, and Russell Wilson this week. Tampa Bay has been one of the very best matchups for QBs, and Rush has thrown multiple touchdown passes in three of his last four games.

  • Cowboys' Cooper Rush: Tosses two TDs in loss

Rush completed 16 of 31 passes for 183 yards with two touchdowns and one interception and rushed twice for five yards in the Cowboys' 27-20 loss to the Bengals on Monday night. Rush had a harder time than might have been envisioned against a Bengals defense that did a solid job in coverage for the most part and also compiled three sacks in addition to a second-quarter interception at Cincinnati's four-yard line. The veteran backup did start off his night in a positive fashion with an 11-yard touchdown toss to CeeDee Lamb on fourth down in the first quarter, and he added a three-yard scoring pass to Brandin Cooks early in the third quarter. Rush also took a sack and threw high to Jake Ferguson on the Cowboys' final drive in the fourth quarter, turning the ball over on downs as a result of the latter play. Rush will aim to get back on track in a favorable Week 15 road matchup against the Panthers.

  • Cowboys' Cooper Rush: Sleeper QBs

In their past three games, the Bengals have allowed Lamar Jackson, Justin Herbert, and Russell Wilson to pass for 1,001 yards, nine touchdowns, and one interception, and each quarterback scored at least 28.4 Fantasy points. Rush has scored at least 18.4 Fantasy points in two of his past three games, and he's worth using as a streaming option in all leagues, given the matchup on Monday night.

  • Cowboys' Cooper Rush: Week 14 Waiver Priority List

Rush scored at least 18.4 Fantasy points in two of his past three games, and he has a fantastic matchup in Week 14 against Cincinnati. He follows that up with Carolina in Week 15 and Tampa Bay in Week 16. He should be rostered and started in all Superflex and two-quarterback leagues against the Bengals, and you can consider starting him in one-quarterback leagues as well. He's worth adding for up to 5 percent of your remaining FAB in one-quarterback leagues and at least 10 percent in Superflex and two-quarterback leagues.

  • Cowboys' Cooper Rush: Limits mistakes on Thanksgiving

Rush completed 21 of 36 passes for 195 yards, one touchdown and zero interceptions in Thursday's 27-20 win over the Giants. He added five rushes for zero yards. Rush wasn't asked to do much, as the Cowboys cashed in a pick-six and also scored on a short field to begin the third quarter. As a result, Rush didn't have to be aggressive in pushing the ball down the field, but he didn't turn the ball over and didn't take a sack to keep the Cowboys' offense on schedule. His 5.4 yards per attempt weren't inspiring, but he did throw for at least one touchdown for the third time in his four starts this season. Rush will likely have to be more aggressive in a Week 14 matchup against Cincinnati, which could lead to a better stat line.

  • Cowboys' Cooper Rush: Set to play Thursday

Rush (knee) doesn't have a designation for Thursday's game versus the Giants, Mike Garafolo of NFL Network reports. Rush was estimated as a limited participant on practice reports issued Monday and Tuesday, but his ability to handle a full session Wednesday has paved the way for him to continue to lead the Cowboys offense Week 13. While he won't have tight end Jake Ferguson (concussion) for a second consecutive contest Thursday, Rush will have top wideouts CeeDee Lamb (back/foot) and Brandin Cooks (knee) -- the latter of whom was activated from injured reserve Wednesday -- available to him.
