Byrd (concussion) was placed on the Panthers' injured reserve list Tuesday.
Byrd suffered a head injury during Carolina's second game of the preseason. He enjoyed a solid training camp up until that point, though, and will likely take aim at cracking the Panthers' roster once again in 2017.

LaRon Byrd: Cut by Panthers
Byrd (concussion) was released by the Panthers on Tuesday, Steve Reed of the Associated Press reports.
The head injury suffered by Byrd during the Panthers' second preseason game likely played a role in the team's decision to cut him. Kelvin Benjamin, Ted Ginn, and Devin Funchess figure to be the main trio at receiver throughout the season.

Panthers' LaRon Byrd: Evaluated for concussion Saturday
Byrd left Saturday's matchup with the Titans to be evaluated for a concussion, Max Henson of Carolinahuddle.com reports.
The severity of the injury is currently unknown, but don't expect Byrd to resume football related activities until he passes concussion protocol. Byrd is near the bottom of the Panthers' depth chart, so he's competing for a spot on the final roster.
