Panthers' Darrel Young: Plays 21 snaps
Young rushed four times for 15 yards in Saturday's preseason game against the Titans.
Young played 21 snaps over the course of the game, with only Cameron Artis-Payne handling more carries among the Panthers' backs. However, in contrast to his team, which averaged over 7.5 yards per carry, Young's production was less impressive. That being said, as a fullback, Young's blocking skills are more critical to the Panthers' success than his running ability.

Panthers' Darrel Young: Signs future contract
Young signed a reserve/future contract with the Panthers on Wednesday.
Young spent training camp with the Bears last season but failed to earn a spot on the 53-man roster. Previously, he spent six seasons with the Redskins, scoring 13 touchdowns over that span. He'll now compete with Mike Tolbert and Devon Johnson throughout the offseason in the hopes of furthering his NFL career.

Bears' Darrel Young: Signs with Bears
Young was signed by the Bears on Thursday.
Young will provide the Bears' backfield with a viable option in short-yardage and blocking situations. The veteran fullback has spent six years in Washington where he amassed 185 yards on 51 rushes and seven touchdowns to go along with 44 catches for 424 yards and six touchdowns. He's played at least 13 games in each of his seasons thus far in the league, while the only other option at fullback for the Bears prior to Young's signing was Paul Lasike.
