Will Compton: Announces retirement
Compton announced his retirement via his personal Twitter feed Sunday.
Compton last suited up with the Raiders in 2021 and spent the second half of the 2022 campaign on the Falcons' practice squad. However, the 33-year-old will elect to call it a career after spending nine years in the NFL. He totaled 358 tackles (210 solo), including a sack, three interceptions, four fumble recoveries, two forced fumbles and 12 pass defenses.

Will Compton: Joining up with Atlanta
Compton announced Monday via his personal Twitter account that he has signed a deal with the Falcons to join their practice squad.
Compton has yet to play this season after being released by the Raiders at the end of the 2021 campaign. The 33-year-old linebacker has primarily played on special teams over the past two seasons, and he recorded one tackle on 32 special-teams snaps over two games with Las Vegas in 2022.

Raiders' Will Compton: Returns from COVID list
Compton was activated from the reserve/COVID-19 list Monday.
Compton hasn't played since Week 14 due to missing time because of a personal matter, then being placed in COVID protocols. Now healthy, Compton should suit up Sunday against the Chargers and provide depth at linebacker.

Raiders' Will Compton: Lands in COVID protocols
Compton (illness) was placed on the reserve/COVID-19 list Tuesday, as a result of testing positive for the virus, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
Compton has missed the last two weeks due to personal reasons, and now he is in danger of missing more time after landing in COVID protocols. The Raiders' linebacker unit has been hit hard by COVID in the last 24 hours, so if Compton can gain clearance, he could potentially play a large role Sunday against the Colts.
